The Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) Main Campus ROTC Unit demonstrated its loyalty to education and community service by proactively taking part in Brigada Eskwela 2026 with a theme of "BAYANIHAN SA PAARALAN: NAGKAKAISA PARA SA KAAYUSAN AT KAALAMAN," held on 05 June 2026, at Surigao City Pilot School, Brgy. Taft, Surigao City.

With LTC ROMEL C DE LA CRUZ PA (RES), Commandant of the SNSU Main ROTC Unit, leading and supported by four (4) Graduate Military Assistants, seven (7) Second Class Officers, and thirteen (13) Third Class Cadet Officers

Through a coordinated effort consisting of cleaning and minor repairs, the unit greatly improved the school's facilities. These contributions made sure the campus was ready for the new school year, creating a safer, cleaner, and better learning environment for students.

On 16 1300H May 2026, the Surigao Del Norte State University (SNSU) Main Campus ROTC Unit, under the 1503rd Community Defense Center,15th RCDG, RCPA, spearheaded by LTC ROMEL C DE LA CRUZ (RES) PA, Commandant, and 1LT ELMER R HIPOLITO PA (RES), Asst. Commandant, successfully conducted the Joint Closing Ceremony Of Basic And Advance ROTC, A.Y. 2025-2026 at the SNSU Main Campus Gymnasium.

The formation was attended by LTC RAMIEL P FUGNIT PA (RET), Former Ex-O, 10th FSSU, ASCOM PA, LTC DE LA CRUZ PA (RES), 1LT ELMER R HIPOLITO PA (RES) Asst Commandant, Cpl Kenneth Jumamil (Inf) PA, Chief Clerk, Sgt Argie T Tolibas PA (Res), Sgt Gil Mhar Idea PA (Res), Sgt Lance Gerard T Edradan PA (Res), Sgt Bridgette Marie P Bonilla PA (Res), Sgt Jireh Mae M Javier PA (Res), Sgt Mary Jane O Mesias PA (Res), Sgt Cleo Marie A Miaco PA (Res), Sgt Kemberlie T Miole PA (Res), Sgt Janile C Montecalvo PA (Res), Sgt Yvette Niña Aphrodite B Wines PA (Res), Graduate Military Assistant (GMA), and Seventeen (16) First Class, and Twenty (20) Second Class Cadet Officers, and Five Hundred and Seventy-Three (573) Cadets and Cadettes.

The program commenced with the arrival of the Guest of Honor and Speaker, LTC FUGNIT, followed by the Entrance of Colors, singing of the National Anthem, invocation, and opening remarks.

The program continued with a meaningful message from Sir Ireneo C. Plando Jr., NSTP Director, who expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the ROTC Program for its dedication, patriotism, and unwavering commitment to service in developing disciplined and responsible future leaders of the nation.

This was followed by LTC DE LA CRUZ PA (RES) and 1LT HIPOLITO PA (RES) officially declaring the Advanced Cadet Officers and Basic Cadets and Cadettes as graduates for Academic Year 2025–2026. Afterwards, the awarding of certificates and medals was conducted in recognition of the cadets’ dedication, hard work, and accomplishments throughout the training year.

Subsequently, the Guest of Honor and Speaker was formally introduced by LTC DE LA CRUZ PA (RES) through the reading of his biography. Thereafter, LTC FUGNIT shared his life story and delivered an inspirational message emphasizing leadership, discipline, responsibility, perseverance, and steadfast commitment to service and nation-building.

The ceremony concluded at 1700H, marking another successful and meaningful Joint Closing Ceremony of the Basic and Advanced ROTC for the SNSU Main Campus ROTC Unit.

Commandant, successfully conducted the Regional Annual Administrative Tactical Inspection, A.Y. 2025-2026 at the Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) Main Campus as the Training Ground and Surigao City Former Public Market as the Field.

The event was attended by the RAATI Evaluation Team headed by COL REY P PASCO GSC (INF) PA, ADC for RRA and the Teams Chairperson, LTC ALLAN Y VILDOSOLA (GSC) INF PA, Vice-Chairperson, LTC FERDINAND L MOPAL (INF) PA, Director of the 1503rd CDC, 15th RCDG, RCPA, LTC DE LA CRUZ, 1LT HIPOLITO, Cpl Kenneth Jumamil (Inf) PA, Chief Clerk, Dr. Rowena A. The event commenced with the Arrival of the Guest of Honor and Speaker, followed by the Ceremonial Parade led by the Troop Commander, CDTTE COL NIÑA ANDREA G AJERO (ROTC) 1CL.

The Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI) is a vital component of the Philippine Army’s vision and strategic goals, ensuring that the ROTC program remains responsive, effective, and aligned with the continuous development of the Reserve Force.

RAATI evaluates a unit’s compliance with standard operating procedures and thoroughly assesses cadets in physical fitness, discipline, military bearing, knowledge, and tactical skills across various areas. These include Drills and Ceremonies such as Arrival of Honors, Ceremonial Parade, Company Drill, and Rank Inspection; Small Unit Tactics involving Ambush and Raid Scenarios; Basic Life Support; Weapons Disassembly and Assembly; Map Reading (Theory and Practical); Military Comprehensive Examinations; Administrative Inspections; and Silent Drills.

The Administrative Inspection specifically evaluates the completeness, organization, and accuracy of documents and records handled by the Brigade Staff Sections from S1 to S7, including personnel management, training records, operational reports, logistics documentation, plans, communications, and other official unit files, ensuring compliance with ROTC and Philippine Army standards.

At 1300H, the dedicated Cadets and Cadettes of the SNSU Main Campus ROTC Unit demonstrated their commitment, discipline, and professionalism during the Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection A.Y. 2025–2026. The inspection concluded with LTC VILDOSOLA, Vice-Chairperson of the RAATI Evaluation Team, announcing an outstanding overall rating of 95.8%, earning commendation from both the RAATI Team and the School Administration.

The success of this year’s RAATI stands as a testament to the unwavering dedication of the unit in developing capable, disciplined, and accountable future leaders who are prepared to serve the nation with honor, patriotism, and excellence.
