The SNSU-Mainit Campus ROTC Unit proudly congratulate the newly licensed professional teachers from the Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED-AFA) for achieving an outstanding 92.59% passing rate in the September 2025 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers. Your success reflects your perseverance, discipline, and passion for teaching.

The​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) Mainit Campus Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) Unit held their 11th Training Day Formation successfully on December 6, 2025. It set a step farther in the process of instilling discipline, deepening core military skills, and developing leadership potential of the cadets involved.

The drill was led by 1LT Alan R Arado PA (RES) as the Assistant Commandant and SSG Rolliejoy T Banas (MI) PA as the Tactical NCO. Cpl Erne S Crisologo (Inf) PA as the Admin NCO, together with Graduate Military Assistants, Sgt Shena D Banuag PA (Res), Sgt Rose Mae B Bugtay PA (Res), Sgt Jorge B Arnigo PA (Res), (Res), Sgt Clide Dave C Dano PA(Res), and Sgt John Carl Soriano PA(Res) led the administrative support. The entire event was under the supervision of CPT Rene G Esma PA (RES), the Commandant of the SNSU Mainit ROTC Unit.

The formation was actually opened at 0700H with a prayer and roll call, a very important tradition that promotes among the cadets punctuality, responsibility, and preparedness. 344 in all, the total number of the cadets were found to be present counting 11 Second Class (2CL) officers,11 First Class (1CL) officers, and 5 GMAs, all cooperating for the fruition of the day’s activities.The next five hours were filled with drills and ceremonial rehearsals for the cadets. They practiced a variety of marching drills from basic to advanced and executed numerous exercises for squad and platoon formation. They were also involved in a number of activities including:

Manual of arms, drills command voice, giving of commands synchronization and uniformity drills such drill exercises gave them discipline, confidence, teamwork, and coordination-they are not only very useful in the ROTC but also in academic pursuits, and future careers of the cadets.

The ROTC Comprehensive Examination has become another great focal point of the day where the evaluation of the cadets took place in military customs and courtesies, rank structures, leadership principles, first aid, emergency responses, and mastery of drills. This test promotes psychological readiness, critical thinking, and the worth of constant study practice-studies are the key that even an average college student cannot avoid.

Training formally ended with a closing formation and final remarks from the officers at 1200H. The cadets were given the reminder of discipline, respect, and continuous self-development through the lessons which they have learned today as they will be going to the next training. The event ended with the orderly dismissal of the cadets, which was in line with the unity and discipline that they had demonstrated during the whole ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌day.

𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐑𝐎𝐓𝐂 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬

The impressive ROTC Unit ceremony that took place on November 29,2025 was a vivid display of the various military traditions, and beside that, it was also a way of paying tribute of COL. ROMEO C JEMENIA INF (GSC) PA . The function commenced with a very orderly and disciplined setting - the assembling and marching in of all unit members.

The Invocation was presented by LTC ROMEO LOAYON PA (RES), Executive Officer of the 2004 RRIBde, who very beautifully opened the event with an eloquent prayer. The Welcome Address was delivered by CPT RENE G ESMA PA (RES), Company Commander of the 1503RRIBn, who not only congratulated but also highly appreciated the tremendous hard work and commitment that was shown by both the cadets and the officers.

MAJ FILMAR V LUZON (INF) PA, Group Adjutant of the 15RCDG, RCPA spoke aloud the Retirement Orders which were a tribute to the military service of the members who are going to retire.

With the appearance of COL. JONATHAN P OBENA (GSC) PA , a high-ranking officer within the Group Command, the whole event received an additional mark of importance and support from the top.

The Pass-In-Review was the culminating part of the ceremony, where all unit members marched all at once in formation, acknowledging the virtues of their discipline, unity, and pride as members of the ROTC.

The entire programme was under the Master of Ceremony Sgt. Rose Mae B Bugtay PA (Res), whose talent and effort in orchestrating the event were simply excellent.

The ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps) Unit of Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) Mainit Campus held its 10th Training Day Formation on November 29, 2025, which was a success in developing discipline, building basic military skills and developing leadership potential for all those cadets involved in this exercise.

The event was conducted with 1LT Alan R. Arado PA (RES) serving as the Assistant Commandant and SSG Rolliejoy T. Banas (MI) PA serving as the Tactical NCO, while Cpl Erne S. Crisologo (Inf) PA served as the Admin NCO; and listing Sergeant Rose Mae B Bugtay PA (Res) and Sergeant Jorge B Arnigo PA (Res),Sgt Christine A Morano PA (Res),Sgt Kyle Dela Costa PA (Res), Sgt Dionelyn Arco PA (Res),Sgt Jethro Gilles PA (Res), and Sgt Jomar C Sarto PA(Res)
as Graduate Military Assistants. This training day was supervised by CPT Rene G. Esma PA (Res) who is the Commandant of the ROTC program.

The exercises started at 0700H and were opened with the group saying a prayer and then taking attendance as a way to encourage a sense of on-time attendance and individual responsibility to know when to arrive at a training event. A total of 296 cadets participated in this training day; 20 second class (2CL) ROTC officers and 21 first-class (1CL) ROTC officers,and 8 GMA supported the activity.

From 0700H until 1200H, cadets practiced a series of drills and ceremonial exercises that could help to develop coordination, discipline and confidence in those performing the drills. It provided an opportunity to practice marching techniques, which were performed as a group, allowing the cadets to develop their skills while practicing to perform good teamwork as they moved together towards the performance ofuniformity in their marching.

Training sessions highlighted the important values of ROTC, which include: Leadership, Respect for Others, Discipline and Patriotism.

Mainit, Surigao del Norte — The first day of Intramurals at Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) Mainit Campus kicked off with pride and excitement as selected ROTC Color Officers led the Opening Parade on 26 November 2025. Carrying both the national and university colors, the cadets showcased discipline and confidence in front of the entire campus community.

The Color Team was composed of Cdt Maj Arnel Bangkil 1CL (Color Officer), Cdt Maj Ivans M Dela Cruz 1CL (Color Guard), Cdt Maj Ricklens C Oquindo 1CL (Color Guard), Cdt Maj Jayson A Cainoy 2CL (Unit Flag), Cdt Maj Junrey P Montajes 2CL(ROTC Flag), Cdt Maj Ryvie M Manatad 2CL (Philippine Flag). They were supervised by Ssg Rollie Joy T Bañas MI (PA), TAC NCO , along with Cpl Erne S Crisologo INF (PA), Admin NCO.

The cadets performed their duties with synchronized movements and full respect for tradition, adding formality and a strong sense of unity to the event. Their presence set the tone for a meaningful and energetic start to the Intramurals.

Representing the ROTC Unit as Colors during such an important university event shows the cadets’ dedication, discipline, and commitment to the values of leadership, respect, and service—qualities that every ROTC officer strives to uphold.

Mainit, Surigao del Norte — The Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Unit of Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) Mainit Campus successfully conducted its 9th Training Day Formation on 22 November 2025, marking another day of strengthened discipline, unity, and leadership across the unit.

The activity was led by 1LT Alan R Arado PA (RES) Assistant Commandant , together with SSG Rolliejoy T Bañas (MI)PA,Tactical NCO, Cpl Erne S Crisologo(Inf) PA, Admin NCO ,and Two Graduate Military Assistants Sgt Rose Mae B Bugtay PA(Res) and Sgt Jorge B Arnigo PA (Res) under the supervision of CPT Rene G Esma PA(RES), Commandant.

The formation began at 0700H, starting with a prayer and attendance checking to instill punctuality and accountability. A total of 353 cadets participated, along with 23 second-class (2CL) and 16 first-class (1CL) ROTC officers.

By 0900H, cadets engaged in various practice drills and ceremonial exercises designed to enhance their discipline, coordination, and responsiveness. These activities sharpened their marching skills, improved their confidence, and strengthened their teamwork.

Beyond the drills, the training reinforced essential ROTC values such as discipline, respect, leadership, and patriotism. The shared efforts throughout the day fostered unity and pride in representing SNSU.

This training day was further enriched by the active participation and support of advanced officers from SNSU Malimono Campus and SNSU Main Campus. Their presence not only strengthened inter-campus cooperation but also provided additional leadership, guidance, and motivation to the cadets of SNSU Mainit. Their collaboration showcased the shared commitment of all SNSU ROTC units toward excellence and progress.

The training officially concluded at 1200H with noticeable improvements in the cadets’ performance and confidence—marking another productive and meaningful milestone for the SNSU Mainit Campus ROTC Unit.

On the 14th day of November 2025, the ROTC Unit of SNSU Mainit Campus conducted its Turnover of Command and Evaluation Ceremony, starting with the National Anthem, Invocation, and an audio-visual presentation.

CPT Rene G. Esma PA (Res) delivered the Welcome Remarks and led the first Turnover of Command and Control. MSg Orlando P. Angwas INF (PA) then assumed command and introduced the Evaluation Team, followed by the Evaluation Proper.

In the second part of the program, Col Romeo C. Jimenea GSC INF PA delivered his keynote message. Another turnover took place, with MSg Angwas handling the turnover and CPT Esma assuming command once again.

This ceremony is more than tradition—it ensures smooth leadership transitions, recognizes achievements, and strengthens teamwork and discipline among cadets, shaping them into future leaders.

The event ended with the giving of a Certificate of Appreciation and a photo opportunity for all participants.

Mainit, Surigao del Norte — The ROTC Unit of Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) Mainit Campus successfully conducted the 8th training day formation on 15 November 2025.

The activity was supervised by CPT Rene G Esma PA (RES), Commandant, together with 1LT Alan R Arado PA (RES), Assistant Commandant. Supporting them were SSg Rollie T Bañas (Inf) PA, TAC CO, and Cpl Erne S Crisologo (Inf) PA, Administrative NCO. Five Graduate Military Assistants (GMAs) were also present: Sgt Desiree M Restificar PA (Res), Sgt Rose May P Bugtay PA (Res), Sgt Jalen E Mariano PA (Res), Sgt Regie C Bongato PA (Res), and Sgt Carl Kenneth A Mopal PA (Res)

The formation officially started at 0700H with a prayer and checking of attendance to ensure promptness and accountability among cadets. A total of 307 cadets participated in the activity, along with 12 second-class (2CL) and 16 first-class (1CL) ROTC officers.

At 0900H, the cadets went through several practice drills and ceremonial exercises that honed their discipline, coordination, and teamwork. These drills helped them in their development of sharper marching skills, quick and confident responses to commands, and better performance overall.

Beyond the rehearsing of routines, the activities really brought forth the values of discipline, respect, leadership, and patriotism. From their shared efforts, the cadets developed cohesion and pride in representing the university.

Training ended at 1200H with noticeable improvement in the skills and confidence of the cadets. Another productive and meaningful training day for SNSU Mainit Campus ROTC Unit.
