The Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU)–Mainit Campus ROTC Unit successfully conducted its Fifth (5th) Formation on 19 September 2026 at the SNSU–Mainit Campus Sac Area

The activity was carried out under the direct supervision of CPT RENE G ESMA PA (RES), Commandant of the SNSU Mainit Campus ROTC Unit together with 1LT ALAN R ARADO PA (RES), Assistant Commandant, and ROLLIE JOY T BAΓ‘AS (MI) PA, Tactical NCO and SGT BONIFACIO C CEBUALA, admin Tactical NCO assisted by the Graduate Military Assistants (GMAs).

The activity commenced with an opening prayer, followed by the accounting and attendance of cadets. The attendance and formation were closely monitored by the Tactical NCO, with the assistance of the following GMAs:

2. PVT RICKLENS C OQUINDO PA (Res)
3. PVT RYLDEBERT D LLEMIT PA (Res)
4. PVT ERIKCA C NERIO PA PA (Res),
5. PVT CHRISTENE B LUPER ( Res),
6. PVT STEFYR ANRIE S BIOL (Res),
8. PVT VANESSA S SEBIAL PA (Res),

At exactly 0700H, all cadets and cadettes were directed to form up in front of the SAC Area to start organized drills and proper training exercises followed by the proper classroom instructions commenced at the SNSU-Mainit Campus Canteen Area, facilitated by PV ERIKCA C NERIO PA (Res) and PVT CHRISTENE B LUPER PA (Res),with the support of twelve (19) Second Class (2CL) and ten (10) First Class (1CL) Advanced ROTC Officers who assisted in guiding and supervising the trainees.

The instructional session covered a comprehensive discussion on the Military Leadership and Military Justice System emphasizing the importance of discipline, authority, and proper conduct in military service. Furthermore, the cadets and cadettes participated in a smooth and orderly election, where they democratically selected their class officers to serve as leaders and representatives for the academic year.

The activity successfully concluded at 1130H. The conduct of the Fourth Formation was reported by CDT LTC BON KEVIN U CUBELO 1CL, Corp Commander of the SNSU-Mainit ROTC Unit, together with his staff. All cadets and cadettes were accounted for and safely dismissed.

The successful conduct of the Fourth Formation reflects the continuing commitment of the SNSU-Mainit ROTC Unit, in coordination with the 1503rd Community Defense Center (1503CDC), to strengthen the implementation of the ROTC Program and develop disciplined, responsible, and capable future members of the nation's reserve force.

The activity was carried out under the direct supervision of LTC RODEL A BAYON GSC (MI) PA, Director of the 1503rd Community Defense Center,15th RCDG, RCPA. National Reservist Month is celebrated every September. It honors our reservists, or β€œLaang-Kawal” citizen-soldiers who stand ready to serve and help our country at any time. It aims to raise awareness about their vital roles: keeping our nation safe, responding quickly during disasters and emergencies, and serving communities through volunteer work. This month also encourages more citizens to support or join the reserve force, and reminds everyone that being ready to serve is a meaningful way to contribute to nation-building.

Through today’s activity, the cadets and cadettes of the SNSU–Mainit ROTC Unit took part in this nationwide observance. The training aims to build proper military bearing, discipline, teamwork, and precision in movements. It also deepens their understanding of the duties, roles, and valuable contributions of reservists in safeguarding the country and supporting its progress.

The Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU)–Mainit Campus ROTC Unit successfully conducted its Third (3rd) Formation on 05 September 2026 at the SNSU–Mainit Campus SAC area, officially kicking off the regular training activities for the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Program, Academic Year 2026–2027.

They were taught and practiced the correct procedures and standards of rendering military courtesy specifically the proper way to salute followed by mastery of fundamental drill movements: Harap-harapan, Tuntun sa Kanan, and Tuntun sa Kaliwa. These exercises aim to build discipline, and unity of movement β€” core values essential to every trainee.

At exactly 1000H, the cadets are structured classroom instruction commenced at the SNSU-Mainit Campus Canteen Area, facilitated by PVT KARL O SALEM PA (Res) and PVT ADRIAN PAUL R ULAO PA (Res),with the support of twelve (12) Second Class (2CL) and ten (14) First Class (1CL) Advanced ROTC Officers who assisted in guiding and supervising the trainees.

The instructional session covered a comprehensive discussion on the history, roles, and missions of the Philippine Army giving cadets a deeper understanding of the service they are preparing to serve and the heritage of the nation’s defense forces.

Additionally , before the formal lessons began, cadets and cadettes were given the opportunity to gather and join a short spiritual service led by the pastors and pastoral, where they offered prayers, expressed gratitude, and sought guidance for their training and service.They took this meaningful moment to worship and give thanks to God, and were reminded of His vital role as their guide, strength, and source of wisdom in every step of their training, service, and daily life. This reflects the unit’s commitment to forming not just skilled trainees, but also morally upright and God-fearing youth.

The activity successfully concluded at 1200H. The conduct of the Third Formation was reported by CDT LTC JUNREY S MONTAJES 1CL, Brigade S1 of the SNSU-Mainit ROTC Unit, together with his staff. All cadets and cadettes were accounted for and safely dismissed.

The Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU)–Mainit Campus ROTC Unit successfully conducted its Second Formation on 29 August 2026 at the SNSU-Mainit Campus, marking the formal commencement of its ROTC activities for Academic Year 2026–2027.

The activity was conducted under the supervision of CPT RENE G ESMA PA (RES), Commandant, together with 1LT ALAN R ARADO PA (RES), Assistant Commandant, and ROLLIE JOY T BAΓ‘AS (MI) PA, Tactical NCO, assisted by the Graduate Military Assistants (GMAs).

PA (Res) and PVT VANESSA S SEBIAL PA (Res) with the support of twelve (10) Second Class (2CL) and ten (12) First Class (1CL) Advanced ROTC Officers.

The instructional session began with a thorough discussion code of conduct: the Code of Values, the Honor Code, and the essential do's and don'ts to be observed during all formations, emphasizing integrity, ethical behavior, and professional discipline as the foundation of every cadet's character.

At 1000H, all cadets and cadettes were granted a short recess; upon reassembly at 1020H, they were directed to form up for hands-on instruction covering proper military bearing, correct deportment, fundamental ROTC drill commands, basic military movements, and a formal introduction of the DR. This practical training was designed to instill self-discipline, alertness, teamwork, coordination, and attention to detail β€” core qualities essential in molding disciplined, responsible, and service-oriented future citizen-soldiers committed to serving the nation with honor and pride.
