The High School Department of Northeastern Mindanao Colleges (NEMCO) successfully conducted its annual In-Service Training (INSET) Re-echo for 2026, reaffirming its commitment to academic excellence and the continuous professional development of its educators. The activity aimed to bridge insights gained from the INSET with curriculum planning and instructional practices.
The program commenced with preliminary activities, followed by the formal opening program. In her statement of purpose, High School Principal Dr. Milagros G. Villarama underscored the importance of sustained professional learning in addressing current educational demands and enhancing teaching effectiveness.
The first session was facilitated by Vincent Salarda, Jamiette Nolia, and Kerwin Buladaco. The speakers presented significant updates on the trimester school calendar, the evaluation and initiatives of the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM II), and national learning recovery efforts. They also emphasized the evolving roles of teachers as designers, facilitators, and assessors within a blended learning environment.
Following a brief health break, the second session was led by Kirk Acero, Alberth Vertudazo, and Jhun Ford Garay. Their discussion focused on the introduction of the curriculum map and learning plan, highlighting the alignment of standards, competencies, assessments, and learning experiences. This was further enriched by the presentation of the institutional curriculum map and learning plan template by Charlton Feliza.
The morning session concluded with the Junior High School (JHS) participants sharing their key insights and best practices across various learning areas, fostering collaborative learning and reflective practice.
In the afternoon, participants engaged in a workshop dedicated to the development of Quarter 1 learning plans per subject area. The session included group presentations, an open forum, and the refinement of outputs through collaborative feedback and guidance from facilitators.
Through this initiative, the High School Department continues to strengthen its instructional practices and uphold its commitment to delivering responsive and quality education.
