‎Organized by the 𝐂𝐃𝐑𝐑𝐌𝐎 through 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒋𝒆𝒄𝒕 𝑲𝒂-𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒉𝒂𝒘𝒂, the training aimed to strengthen participants’ knowledge and practical skills in providing inclusive psychosocial interventions during emergencies and community recovery.
‎
‎𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐥 was one of two representatives from Northeastern Mindanao Colleges (NEMCO) invited to participate in the capacity-building activity. The training also highlighted the importance of inter-agency collaboration in promoting community resilience, mental well-being, and safety.
‎
‎Through her completion of the training, 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐥 brings back valuable knowledge and skills that can contribute to NEMCO’s efforts in promoting mental health and psychosocial support within the school and community.

‎Ninoy was a journalist, politician, and one of the strongest critics of the Marcos administration. Because of his opposition, he was imprisoned and later went into exile in the United States. Despite the risks, he eventually decided to return to the Philippines in 1983.
‎
‎His return, however, ended in tragedy.
‎
‎𝐎𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟏, 𝟏𝟗𝟖𝟑, 𝐍𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐚 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 shortly after arriving in the country.
‎ His death sparked widespread anger and strengthened the growing movement against authoritarian rule. 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝟏𝟗𝟖𝟔 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐦𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐲.

‎Today, Ninoy Aquino Day is more than a day off from school or work. It is 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, even when the consequences are uncertain.

‎For many young Filipinos, Ninoy’s story raises an important question: What are we willing to stand for?
‎His legacy reminds us that democracy is not simply something we inherit. It is something that must be understood, valued, and protected by every generation.
‎
‎As students, we may not face the same struggles that Ninoy did, but we have our own ways of making our voices heard. We can speak against injustice, stand up for others, seek the truth, and participate responsibly in our communities.
‎
‎Ninoy once became a symbol of courage because he refused to let fear decide for him.
‎

The Student Affairs and Services (SAS) conducted a general meeting for summer graduating students at Paloma Hall to discuss essential information and preparations for the upcoming summer graduation.

The gathering began with an opening prayer led by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐥𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐨, followed by the welcome remarks delivered by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐂. 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐧, 𝐌𝐀𝐄𝐝, 𝐄𝐝𝐃 (𝐂𝐀𝐑), Dean of Student Affairs and Services.

The meeting aimed to provide graduating students with essential details and guidelines regarding the upcoming summer graduation activities for Academic Year 2025–2026. Among the matters discussed were graduation fees, the schedule and procedures for graduation day, appropriate attire, important reminders, and other graduation-related concerns.

𝐌𝐬. 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐂. 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐧 emphasized the importance of responsibility, proper conduct, cooperation, and punctuality among the graduating students to ensure the smooth preparation and successful conduct of the graduation ceremonies.

The session also provided the graduating class with an opportunity to raise concerns, ask questions, and seek clarification regarding the scheduled activities, requirements, and other matters related to their graduation.

Through the general meeting, the Student Affairs and Services Office reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that graduating students are properly informed, guided, and prepared as they approach this significant milestone in their academic journey.

The attack killed 22 people, including Sergio Vieira de Mello, the United Nations Special Representative in Iraq and a humanitarian worker.

Humanitarian workers provide assistance to people affected by armed conflicts, natural disasters, and other emergencies. Their work includes providing food, clean water, medicine, shelter, and other basic needs. They also support people who have been forced to leave their homes because of conflict or disasters.

Their work is not always easy. Humanitarian workers often serve in places where there are dangerous conditions. Even while facing these risks, they continue to provide assistance to people who are in need. Their work shows how important it is to respond to people during their most difficult times.

Humanitarian work can also happen in our own communities. During typhoons, floods, earthquakes, and other disasters, many people volunteer, donate supplies, and help affected families. They may not call themselves humanitarian workers, but their actions are also a way of helping others.

World Humanitarian Day gives us a chance to recognize these people and understand the importance of humanitarian work. It also reminds us that behind every crisis are people who need support, protection, and hope.

Inspired by the world of Toy Story, the orientation brought together freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors in a celebration of friendship, teamwork, leadership, and new beginnings. The formal proceedings commenced with the Invocation, 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦, and 𝐍𝐄𝐌𝐂𝐎 𝐇𝐲𝐦𝐧 presented through a multimedia presentation. 𝐒𝐲𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐋. 𝐋𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐚, 𝐂𝐁𝐄 𝐋𝐒𝐆 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫, delivered the welcome remarks, emphasizing the importance of cultivating the right mindset and fostering unity within the CBE community. The presentation of year-level chants followed, filling the venue with enthusiasm and camaraderie as students represented their respective year levels. The CBE faculty and administrators were then introduced to the student body. Adding to the celebration, 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐄𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐚, 𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝-𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐁𝐒𝐄𝐃 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭, performed “𝐊𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐚 𝐊𝐚” 𝐛𝐲 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐞, further enlivening the gathering.

Beyond the performances and festivities, PAKIGDASIG 2026 served as an avenue for students to gain essential information and guidance for the academic year. The orientation covered the CBE 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐬 and the 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥, including 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, as well as the 𝐒𝐀𝐒 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬, 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐒𝐢𝐫 𝐉𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐲 𝐆. 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐠. Energy surged once again as representatives from the four year levels took the stage for the Dance Showdown, showcasing their talent, confidence, and creativity. 𝐉𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐨 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬 𝐁. 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐠, representing the first-year level, emerged as the winner and received a ₱500 cash prize. The celebration formally concluded with the closing remarks delivered by the 𝐂𝐁𝐄 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫, followed by the Club Introduction hosted by 𝐉𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐝 𝐂. 𝐄𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚, 𝐂𝐁𝐄 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧. More than an orientation, PAKIGDASIG 2026 marked the beginning of a new academic chapter for the CBE community. Inspired by the enduring message of Toy Story, the event underscored the value of friendship, cooperation, responsibility, and collective growth. As students embark on another academic journey, they are encouraged to embrace their responsibilities, pursue excellence, and contribute meaningfully to the CBE community. Buwan ng Wika is a celebration of our language, culture, and identity as a Filipino. It is a celebration that teaches us to embrace our own language and culture, and also encourages students to express themselves through writing, speaking, art, and other activities that showcase our unique culture. However, artificial intelligence is becoming part of almost everything we do. One question needs to be asked: 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝑨𝑰 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒂 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑩𝒖𝒘𝒂𝒏 𝒏𝒈 𝑾𝒊𝒌𝒂?

In my opinion, it should not become the main focus of this celebration.

These days, AI can create posters, write captions, generate poems, make designs, and even produce entire pieces of work in just a few seconds. We can also see many people on social media using AI for almost everything. One of the most controversial issues today is how people use AI for poster-making contests that are supposed to showcase people’s creativity. However, people these days are always relying on AI, and it is slowly replacing us. This makes us question whether we are still showing our own creativity or just letting AI do the work for us.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐈. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒃𝒍𝒆𝒎 𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒘𝒆 𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒊𝒕 𝒕𝒐𝒐 𝒎𝒖𝒄𝒉 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒍𝒆𝒕 𝒊𝒕 𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒕𝒚, wasting our effort, especially during Buwan ng Wika.

People might say that the theme, “𝐖𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐈: 𝐊𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐬𝐢𝐤 𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐬𝐚 𝐘𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐲𝐨𝐧” for Buwan ng Wika 2026, is about how we use AI as a guide for Filipinos and the relationship between AI and our own language. Because this generation is more focused on technology, we can use AI as a bridge to gain information and help us with research. They have a point, but based on what I’ve seen on social media, many people have misinterpreted the theme. It shows how much they embrace AI rather than focusing on the main point of the event or celebration.

AI has overshadowed the message and purpose of the celebration to the point that people are abusing its existence. And I would say that AI should not be the theme because of how people are promoting it as a tool to replace our own artistic skills.

In conclusion, we should embrace our own creative skills and not ignore our own efforts. AI can be very creative and intelligent, but human creative works that come from our hearts and real experiences are more superior to a computer system that doesn't have feelings and only relies on our experiences and knowledge. Let us be enlightened that Buwan ng Wika is a celebration of our own culture and language that encourages us to showcase our unique culture through our own skills and efforts.

This year’s Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa theme, “𝐖𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐈: 𝐊𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐤𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐬𝐢𝐤 𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐲 𝐬𝐚 𝐘𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐲𝐨𝐧,” focuses on the connection between the Filipino language and modern technology. It shows us how AI can be used as a tool for research while also making information easier to access and understand.

AI can be helpful when doing research because it can provide information and explain topics in simpler terms. It can also help students discover different sources and ideas. However, information from AI should still be checked because not everything it provides is always correct. Reliable sources are still important.
The Filipino language also has a place in the development of AI.

This reminds us that technology and our language do not have to be separate. AI can become another tool for learning and for giving our language a place in the digital world.

The reason behind left-handedness involves many factors, including genetics. If both parents are right-handed, the chance of their child being left-handed is roughly 𝟏𝟎%. If one parent is left-handed, that chance rises to about 𝟐𝟎%. If both parents are left-handed, the probability is approximately 𝟐𝟓%. Yet genes account for only about 𝟐𝟓% of handedness. The remaining 𝟕𝟓% comes from random chance and environmental influences before birth.

Even so, left-handed people face real challenges in a world largely designed for right-handed individuals. They often struggle to use everyday tools made for right-handers—such as single-arm desks, scissors, notebooks, and certain machinery. Historically, too, many ancient cultures wrongly associated left-handedness with misfortune or ill intent.
