May 20, 2026 - A significant milestone in the First LINGAS Summit 2026 was marked with the formal launching of the Institute for Skills Development and Lifelong Learning (ISDLL), a strategic initiative that strongly reinforces SNSUโs commitment to accessible, inclusive, and future-ready education. The establishment of the Institute directly aligns with the โLโ of the LINGAS Framework, which underscores Lifelong Learning as a core pillar of institutional transformation and sustainable development.
The launching of the ISDLL coincided with the formal integration of SNCAT-TESDA into SNSU, strengthening the Universityโs capability to provide technical-vocational education, skills training, and lifelong learning opportunities responsive to the evolving needs of industries and communities.
The official launching was highlighted by a ceremonial button pressing led by University President Dr. Rowena A. Plando, together with TESDA Regional Director Florencio F. Sunico Jr. and CHED Regional Director Nelia A. Alibin. The symbolic act marked the formal opening of the Institute, the beginning of a stronger partnership in advancing skills development and lifelong learning.
In her message, Dr. Plando emphasized that the ISDLL embodies SNSUโs expanding role as a catalyst for inclusive education, highlighting the importance of providing learners with practical skills, industry-aligned training, and continuous learning opportunities. The initiative, she noted, reflects the Universityโs commitment to ensuring that education remains responsive, adaptive, and accessible throughout all stages of life.
Further, the SNCAT-TESDA personnel, led by School Administrator Ms. Liza Budtan, were also formally recognized and warmly welcomed during the program, signifying a unified transition and shared commitment to strengthening technical education and community empowerment.
Through the ISDLL, SNSU further strengthens its mission of bridging education, employment, and sustainable development by positioning lifelong learning at the center of its institutional direction. As the University continues to advance its educational landscape, the ISDLL stands as a concrete expression of the LINGAS Frameworkโs visionโwhere lifelong learning empowers individuals, strengthens communities, and creates enduring pathways for growth and innovation.
