The humanitarian mission continues!

Lions Club of Singapore Paterson has arrived in Cebu to continue its partnership with Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI), opening the Visayas leg of their ongoing community service initiative under the theme โ€œNourish Today, Empower Tomorrow.โ€

Following earlier engagements in Mindanao, including activities involving Region XII and Region XI in Davao, the partners are preparing for their upcoming community outreach in Badian, Cebu, with the engagement and support of local stakeholders and government partners.

HCCCI deeply values the opportunity to work alongside Lions Club of Singapore Paterson and recognizes the Clubโ€™s continuing commitment to humanitarian service. This Cebu leg also carries a personal significance for HCCCI President Marivet S. Caballero, whose hometown is the province.

Through CommunNekta, HCCCIโ€™s community engagement platform, the partnership continues to connect international cooperation with local action, bringing organizations and communities together in the spirit of service.

Evangelista, Deputy Executive Director IV and Chief of Staff of the Office of CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, together with Dr. Rody P. Garcia, MDM, JD, EdD, Regional Director of CHEDRO XII, on October 13, 2026. The visit showcased the institutionโ€™s learning facilities, academic programs, and expanding international partnerships, reaffirming HCCCIโ€™s commitment to quality higher education and global engagement.

The delegation observed ongoing classes in the Smart Classroom and Innovation Laboratory (iLab), viewed preparations for the upcoming nursing program, and learned about HCCCIโ€™s Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) initiatives and network of more than 45 international partners.

Bago shared insights from their academic engagements, cultural exchanges, and collaborative activities at Universitas Islam Bandung, Indonesia.

The delegates earned Best Group Participation for an SDG 11-related activity, highlighting their teamwork and active engagement in the international program. By sharing their experiences, they also encouraged fellow HCCCI students to pursue global learning opportunities as the institution works toward expanding student participation in future UGEO programs, advancing SDGs 4, 10, and 17.

Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI) is advancing discussions with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Region XII on a proposed collaboration to strengthen safe migration awareness, livelihood readiness, and career development across SOCCSKSARGEN.

Through a proposed Memorandum of Understanding, both institutions aim to connect educational opportunities with practical support for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), returning migrant workers, students, and other eligible beneficiaries. Potential initiatives include financial literacy, entrepreneurship training, flexible learning, pre-employment orientation, and livelihood capacity-building activities.

Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI) strengthened its commitment to academic excellence through its participation in the 30th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) Provincial Elimination on October 2, 2026, at the South East Asian Institute of Technology, Inc. (SEAIT) in Tupi, South Cotabato.

First-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing students Jaderyn S. Deguira and Justin B. Dosado represented the institution, with Deguira earning third runner-up honors and qualifying for the regional competition scheduled for October 14, 2026.

Coached by Francis Llyod L. Galanida, LPT, MST, the studentsโ€™ participation highlighted the value of statistical literacy, analytical reasoning, and quantitative skills in academic and professional development.

Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI) celebrates international research recognition as Kimberly Jean B. Surmion, RPh., MSPh., Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Program Head, was named one of the Best Presenters at the 6th Bandung International Conference on Medical and Health Sciences (BICMHS 2026), held on October 3, 2026, in Bandung, Indonesia.

Surmion presented the study titled โ€œExploring the Traditional Healing Method of the Tโ€™boli Tribe in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato: An Ethnographic Study,โ€ co-authored by Hannah Faith Bansawan, Iris Calvo, John Dexter Campanero, and Kimberly Salomeo.

Conducted through HCCCIโ€™s PIVOT Research Center, the study examined indigenous healing practices, medicinal plant use, and challenges to preserving traditional healthcare knowledge.

This recognition underscores HCCCIโ€™s commitment to research excellence, cultural heritage preservation, and sustainable healthcare, advancing SDGs 3, 4, 11, 15, and 17.

Holy Child Central Colleges, Inc. (HCCCI), together with the Singapore Education Consulting Group (SECG), visited the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XII (CHEDRO XII) to explore strategic directions for higher education development and institutional cooperation.

The delegation included Dr. Natarajan Varaprasad, founding partner of SECG; Mr. Edmund Lim, principal consultant and partner of SECG; and Dr. Subramaniam Ramanathan of the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

The dialogue examined academic leadership, curriculum development, faculty capacity-building, and quality assurance, advancing potential collaborations aligned with SDGs 4, 9, and 17.
