AWARDING OF EDUCATIONAL CASH ASSISTANCE FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS UNDER THE MUJAHIDEEN ASSISTANCE FOR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION PROGRAM OF THE SUPPLEMENTAL TRANSITIONAL DEVELOPMENT IMPACT FUND 2025 Implemented by the MINISTRY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY-BARMM through the initiative of DEPUTY SPEAKER ATTY. ISHAK V. MASTURA, LL.M

The activity was held this morning at the SKIA Founder’s Hall and aimed to support deserving first-year college students in pursuing higher education. Under the program, twenty-five (25) first-year students were selected to receive a one-time financial assistance of Eighty Thousand Pesos (80,000) each, reinforcing the government’s commitment to advancing science and technology education in the region.

The program was attended by the President and Founder of the institution, Atty. Datu Michael O. Mastura, along with the School Administrator and College Dean, Madam Hadja Salma Lourdes V. Mastura. In his message, Deputy Speaker Atty. Ishak V. Mastura emphasized the vital role of education in nation-building and human development, reminding the beneficiaries to value the opportunity granted to them. He reiterated that education remains a top priority of the leadership, as it serves as a powerful tool in empowering the youth and shaping a progressive and self-reliant Bangsamoro society.

𝑯𝑰𝑮𝑯𝑳𝑰𝑮𝑯𝑻𝑺

December 4, 2025 || The Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) awarded educational assistance to college students under the 2024 Supplemental Transitional Developmental Impact Fund. The initiative, led by Deputy Speaker Atty. Ishak V. Mastura, L.L.M, aims to support learners in sustaining their academic pursuits.

A total of 175 second-year students from Sultan Kudarat Islamic Academy (SKIA) received their cheques, each amounting to ₱60,000. The distribution was formally led by Ms. Nurhaynee S. Noor of MBHTE–BARMM.

The program opened with a welcome message from SKIA President and Founder, Atty. Datu Michael O. Mastura who encouraged students and parents to use the financial assistance responsibly. He emphasized that the grant should be allocated toward educational needs such as books, uniforms, and other essential academic materials.

Also in attendance was Deputy Speaker Atty. Ishak V. Mastura, L.L.M, who highlighted the urgency of addressing the rising college dropout rate in BARMM. He noted that recent reports point to an alarming number of students discontinuing their studies due to financial constraints, an issue the assistance program seeks to lessen.

The institution’s Vice President for Finance and Administration, Datu Ismael V. Mastura also delivered a message underscoring the significance of the support in helping students stay on track with their academic goals.

To conclude the ceremony, Mr. Abdulrahim K. Abdul, one of the grantees, expressed his gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanking the MBHTE and the officials for their continued commitment to student welfare and educational development in the region.

The initiative was another step toward improving access to higher education and reducing dropout rates within BARMM, providing much-needed relief and motivation for students to continue striving for academic excellence.

RHU–SK Conducts School-Based Immunization Program at Sultan Kudarat Islamic Academy

November 7, 2025 || School-based immunization (SBI) program implemented by Department of Health in collaboration with DepEd aims to protect school-aged children against vaccine-preventable diseases such as measles, rubella and tetano.

A total of 51 Grade 7 students from SKIA Junior High School received their immunizations during the activity today.

Leading the implementation were the dedicated midwives from the Rural Health Unit, namely: Aisa Dumo, RM, Coramae, Juanday, RM, Hayria Succor, RM, Ranah Franzo, RM.

Appreciation for promoting the health of our Bangsamoro learners. Alhamdullillah!
