Day 6 | Graduation Day! Marks the successful conclusion of the Sustainable Mushroom Farming Training held in Brgy. Looy, South Upi, Maguindanao del Sur, with 45 proud participants graduating after six days of learning and hands-on experience. The graduation ceremony began with warm opening remarks from the Barangay Captain Hon. Arnel B. Aron, followed by an inspiring message from Mr. Elias Salazar, ILO Project Officer and Ms. Ayrin S. Sales from IRDT who shared words of encouragement and support to the participants. Selected participants also gave heartfelt impressions about their training experience, sharing the knowledge and motivation they gained throughout the training. Certificates were awarded to all participants in recognition of their successful completion of the training and followed by the oathtaking of the newly elected officers of the proposed Barangay Looy Mushroom Farmer Association. The program ended with a special closing message from the President of CASTROMAYOR INTEGRATED FARM SCHOOL INCORPORATED, Dr. Leonard S. Castromayor, he emphasized the importance of sustainable mushroom farming.

Day 5. The participants were exposed to various mushroom technologies through benchmarking. Two Mushroom farms were visited by the participants, the Primeval Farm owned by Solome P. Amar in President Quirino, Sultan Kudarat and JIHANNIQUERE Mushroom Products Trading-Tampakan, South Cotabato owned by Virgie T. Jemino.

Day 4. The day was a paradigm shift for the participants to set their mind on business parlance. It started with some questions to elicit their ideas on how they understand business. The topics were slowly presented and discussed thoroughly by Shirley L. Beldia, a retired staff of ATI-RTC XII, for them to internalize the concept and principles of business. Possible projects on mushroom were identified like production of fruiting bags, grain spawn and production of fresh and processed mushrooms. Business Plan on the identified projects were expected as their outputs. Workshops were done per group and presentation followed. Panel members were invited namely: Leovee S. Castromayor, Salome P. Amar and Eliza B. Mesias to give further suggestions for the improvement of their Business Plan. Their output was presented by their appointed leader of the group.

the morning session,the participants were exposed to the field where the mushroom farm was built.They participated in the clearing of the surrounding area and familiarized the proper set up of the mushroom shed house
the afternoon session,the participants carry-out processing activities on the different mushroom recipes such as mushroom polvoron, mushroom pickles, mushroom tocino,mushroom bagoong and mushroom chicharon.They participated actively in processing various recipes of mushroom for possible additional income.The mushroom processing was facilitated by Leovee S. Castromayor and Eliza B. Mesias.

opening preliminaries of the day were facilitated by the host team.The participants were divided into groups (host team) to perform the hands on activities/practicum.The different Laboratory activities were preparation of culture media/Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA),pure mother culture production (Tissue Culture Method),Sub-Culture process,preparation of grain spawn (for oyster mushroom),preparation of substrates for fruiting bags,planting of grain spawn to the fruiting bags,sterilization of fruiting bags,etc. Each topic was thoroughly discussed by Salome P. Amar the owner of Primival Farm a Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA)

training on Sustainable Musroom Farming started with an opening program.It was graced by the OIC Center Director of ATI RTC XII,Dr. Jessie V. Beldia.Followed by an orientation to the participants regarding the flow of the activities in 5-day training.The training was attended by 45 selected participants who are recipients of ILO'S ARISE-child labour project to support the transitioning Bangsamoro Government to eliminate child labour in the region.Training preliminaries were also conducted by the service provider-Castromayor Integrated Farm School Incorporated to create the training atmosphere among participants.Training proper was followed through lectures on the basic mushroom technologies by Dr. Leonard S. CASTROMAYOR,Jr. The school President of CIFSI.
