Celeste Central Elementary School proudly participated in the two-day DRRM activities in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the 1976 Moro Gulf Earthquake and Tsunami, held in Brgy. Aurelio Freires F. Sr., Lebak, Sultan Kudarat on August 17โ€“18, 2026.

The activity provided our learners with meaningful opportunities to strengthen their awareness, preparedness, and resilience in facing disasters.

We are grateful for this meaningful opportunity to learn, participate, and stand with the community in remembering the lessons of the past while preparing for a safer and more resilient future. ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒ

Safety begins with preparedness.

On June 18, 2026, at exactly 9:00 AM, Celeste Central Elementary School actively participated in the 2nd Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED). The activity aimed to strengthen the preparedness and responsiveness of our learners, teachers, and school personnel in the event of an earthquake.

The drill started with a classroom orientation conducted by the teachers, followed by the proper ex*****on of the "Duck, Cover, and Hold" procedure. Participants then proceeded calmly and orderly to the designated evacuation area, where a post-drill evaluation was conducted to assess the effectiveness of the activity and identify areas for improvement.

As our community and neighboring areas continue to experience a series of earthquakes, conducting regular earthquake drills has become more important than ever. Through continuous practice, we build awareness, develop life-saving skills, and foster a culture of safety and resilience within our school community.

In the wake of the recent earthquake, the safety and well-being of our learners remained our highest priority.

Immediately during and after the tremor, the quick response and coordination of the Philippine National Police (PNP)-Lebak and our dedicated Barangay Officials, led by Brgy. Captain Emilio Caspillo, were truly commendable. Together, they promptly assessed the situation and inspected the school premises to ensure the safety of both learners and school personnel.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dear teachers who remained calm, vigilant and guided the learners with care during the incident.

To our supportive parents, thank you for your cooperation and for immediately checking on and securing your children. Your partnership with the school is invaluable, especially during situations that require unity and preparedness.

Thank you everyone for standing with us and for making the safety of our children a shared responsibility.
