Laminar proudly congratulates pilot trainee Trina on completing her first solo flight.

For Trina, aviation has always been a childhood dream. Being able to pursue it now still feels surreal. Though her pre-solo journey came with challenges, she shares, “I overcame it by just showing up and flying every day. I could slowly feel that I was improving little by little.” ✨

Through every struggle and small win, confidence eventually followed.

Now, she looks ahead to finishing her PPL and passing her CAAP exams and checkride. “For now, I just want to keep moving forward one step at a time and enjoy the process.”

Adrian, a firm believer of sticking to one’s own timing, has just accomplished a great feat in his aviation career— complete his first solo flight. 🛫👨🏻‍✈️

The first solo flight is something every pilot never forgets. “It was definitely the mindset shift from thinking of it as a hobby to something I need to put my foot down on. I just needed to have faith and tried my best not to put myself down for my efforts.”�

Inspired by the FedEx Cargo giants that used to frequent Subic back in the days, Adrian knew then that he also wanted to fly an aircraft someday. Training under Capt. Luke and Capt. Dofi, he was finally released for this momentous flight by Capt. Cip.

“I know that behind harder days are always my best days. It gives a certain sense of freedom that I have achieved my childhood dream, and can do more, or do everything else, along with it.”��

For AJ, aviation was a dream she started hoping for just a few years back. The decision to pursue flying came at a point in her career when she knew she wanted something bigger and more meaningful.

Being a first generation pilot in her family, her journey into this path wasn’t easy—going through applications one after another and staying persistent despite the challenges.

AJ was trained by Capt. Lui and Capt. Memark during her pre-solo phase and was cleared for her first solo flight by Capt. Renz.
