By dancing along to the creative exercise led by ALPAS Indak Members inspired by this year's theme: "Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan!"

𝗦𝗖𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 | A Cycle Seen by All: The Summer Solstice

Throughout history, before time was measured with clocks, humanity looked to the skies and used the Sun as a guide; every day its setting and rising became a rhythm we founded our civilizations on.

Its daily and annual cycles became embedded in human culture and traditions, and today brings one of these celestial milestones: the summer solstice.

This event, which occurs today, June 21, 2026, at 4:24 PM PHT, marks the longest day and shortest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, bringing extra hours to the day that vary by region—from an extra hour in lower areas of the Northern Hemisphere all the way up to twelve extra hours of daylight in the Arctic Circle, meaning the Sun never sets.

The summer solstice—despite common belief—does not happen due to Earth’s distance from the sun but rather by the Earth’s natural tilt of 23.5°, and when this tilt is most pointed towards the sun is when the summer solstice happens.

This event marks the beginning of many midsummer traditions; for example, in the UK, stonehenge is opened to the public due to it aligning with the sun during the summer solstice. But for countries like here in the Philippines without midsummer traditions, you can still take advantage of the extra daylight in order to enjoy the outside by going to the beach, taking nature trips, and doing other such outdoor activities.

But in the end, the summer solstice is not just a celestial milestone; it is a reminder of the cycles that have shaped our past traditions and cultures that helped us live, grow, and enjoy life, so this summer solstice, enjoy the daylight by making it even brighter with friends and family.

𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 | Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Our Story: Victory and The Granted Independence

"We must remember that freedom is not inherited; it is earned by every generation." - Diosdado Macapagal

It was 128 years ago when the Philippines, our beloved nation, was freed from 333 years of Spanish Colonialism.

On June 12, 1898, in Kawit, Cavite, General Emilio Aguinaldo went out of the window to
unfurl and wave the Philippine flag for the first time, signifying the reign of our independence.

It was the day our nation had its very own identity, the fundamental right to self-determination, and could finally establish an independent, sovereign nation.

Freedom then was not just political independence, it meant a return to a state of total well-being, dignity, and shared abundance among Filipinos.

It took risk for our heroes and martyrs who sparked and awakened nationalism because of their strong will, knowledge, bravery, and most of all– love for the country.

Remember them— the Ilustrados for making use of a quill so freedom is for us to feel, the Katipunan for the courage amidst battles we now don't have to wrestle, and even the civilians who took part in every step that leads today, put their lives, fortune, and families on the line to grant our nation’s independence and freedom.

These sacrifices are proof that our people would risk it all so that we could establish independence in our nation, and we can say— we are finally free.

Let this live on for every generation to commemorate and tell. Preserve our cultural independence, and share this drag path about how our very own Filipino people earned victory toward independence— for it was all worth it for our beloved nation.

𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗡𝗔𝗡 | Patakaran at Disiplina ng SAASI para sa mga mag-aaral: Respeto at Integridad

June 11, 2026 ‒ idinaos ng Smart Achievers Academy - Subic, Inc. ang pangalawang araw ng Students Orientation mula Elementary hanggang Senior High School.

Ang oryentasyon ay tungkol sa mga patakaran ng nasabing paaralan at ito pinangunahan ng school psychologist/psychometrician na si Ms. Kezia Rapha De Guzman.

Ang unang tinalakay ay ang mga patakaran sa paaralan na dapat sundin ng mga estudyante. Isa sa mga ito ay ang respeto sa bawat isa at sa mga g**o sa paaralan. Kasunod nito ang tungkol sa attendance at sa mga estudyanteng pinepeke ang pagpapadala ng email sa kanilang mga g**o. Bukod dito, itinuro din ang mga tamang pag uugali ng isang estudyante sa loob at labas ng paaralan.

Batay kay Ms. Kezia, may mga karapatan at tungkulin ang mga estudyante sa loob ng paaralan na nararapat sundin katulad na lamang ng pagsuot ng uniporme at tamang pananamit tuwing "self-expression day" bilang isang paraan ng pagdidisiplina sa mga mag-aaral.

Ang mga patakarang ito ay ginawa upang maging ligtas ang mga estudyante at maging maayos ang kapaligiran. Hinihikayat din ang mga magulang na makipag tulungan sa paaralan at sa mga g**o upang maging mapayapa ang paaralang SAASI sa taong panuruan 2026-2027 at sa mga susunod pang taon.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | SAASIans Step Into a Fresh Academic Start

Smart Achievers Academy - Subic, Inc. (SAASI) formally welcomed SAASIans for A.Y. 2026-2027 on June 10, Wednesday, as students stepped foot in the campus for the student readiness session involving systematic, classroom-based introductions and orientations as a preparation for a beginning academic year.

First day session started with a welcoming remark during the flag ceremony, followed by an introduction of teachers and new members of the SAASI family, and ended with each grade level proceeding to their own classrooms led by their respective class advisers.

Inside the classroom, SAASIans started to get to know one another by meeting new faces and catching up with familiar ones, which was warmed up by engaging in fun-filled icebreakers.

Class advisers then proceeded to introduce SAASI by presenting its mission, vision, philosophy, and core values, including monthly events that are to be conducted which students can expect to take place throughout the school year.

Afterwards, classroom rules were discussed to maintain order and discipline among students, including safety and health guidelines to be observed, and as well as the importance of attendance, punctuality, and right conduct.

More importantly, students were oriented towards the major transition of the school calendar into a trimestral system which allows SAASIans to prepare for what is ahead.

One step at a time, SAASIans are to carry on this school year keen and equipped.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | SAASI's Opening Block for S.Y. 2026-2027 Officially Begins

School year 2026-2027 has officially begun on June 8, Monday, as Smart Achievers Academy - Subic, Inc. (SAASI) conducted a parent orientation for Senior High School (SHS), marking the start of its opening block, in which major reforms implemented by the Department of Education (DepEd) were discussed including the Strengthened Senior High School Program.

During the conference, School Director Ms. Editha De Guzman mainly introduced the updated school calendar following a three-term school year in relation to the full implementation of the Strengthened SHS curriculum for incoming Grade 11 students.

By adhering to the new curriculum, SAASI now offers both Academic and Technical Professional (Tech-Pro) Tracks. This transformation simplifies core subjects, allowing students to take flexible electives of their choice, and opens opportunities for expanded hours for work immersion.

Concerning the changes in the SHS curriculum, it was clarified that Grade 12 students are to stick with the previous curriculum they have started with.

Furthermore, parents and guardians were oriented with the school’s rules and regulations, schedules and programs, and grading system.

According to a Grade 11 parent who is now part of pioneering the new curriculum, though the crucial changes may seem different and difficult, as a parent, it is equally important to comply with it and provide support and guidance to their child, aspiring the strengthened curriculum to be a great help to their child’s development and success.

Certainly, the session allowed parents and guardians to be further enlightened and clarify the major and unfamiliar changes within the curriculum, which also served as a preparation to them as key figures to students in navigating this school year.

Opening block will continue until June 11, and classes will officially start on June 15.
