Baluntaya, Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental โ In line with the Municipality of Don Marcelinoโs ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of school communities following the recent earthquake and subsequent aftershocks, the Rapid Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (RDANA) Team conducted a structural assessment and ocular inspection at Baluntaya Elementary School.
The inspection was carried out by the designated assessment team composed of representatives from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and other concerned agencies. The team was led by Antonieta Davis and utilized the BFP Ambulance as the official assessment vehicle during the activity.
The primary objective of the assessment was to evaluate the condition of school buildings and facilities, identify any possible structural damages, and determine whether the school environment remains safe for learners, teachers, and personnel. The inspection covered classrooms, walls, ceilings, foundations, and other critical structures within the school premises.
The activity forms part of the municipalityโs commitment to safeguarding the welfare of all learners and ensuring that educational facilities meet safety standards before the resumption of classes and school operations.
Baluntaya Elementary School extends its sincere appreciation to the RDANA Team and all participating agencies for their prompt response, technical expertise, and dedication to public safety. Their efforts provide valuable guidance in assessing the readiness of school facilities and help ensure informed decisions regarding the return of learners to a secure learning environment.

In the interest of ensuring the safety and well-being of all students, teachers, and school personnel, CLASSES AND WORK in all schools within the Municipality of Don Marcelino REMAIN SUSPENDED until further notice.
This is to allow the concerned authorities and engineering teams to conduct ongoing ocular inspections and structural assessments of school buildings following the recent earthquake and aftershocks.
The Municipal Government prioritizes the safety of our learners and school communities. Classes and school operations will only resume once school facilities are confirmed to be safe for occupancy.
Baluntaya Elementary School fully supports this directive and encourages everyone to remain vigilant and stay updated through official announcements from the Municipal Government, MDRRMO, and the school's official communication channels.
