💙 *Building Strength Through Support and Resilience* 💙

On *June 18, 2026*, Calumpang Elementary School successfully conducted its *School-Based Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services (MHPSS)* for teachers following the recent earthquake.

The activity provided a safe and supportive space for our educators to process their experiences, share their thoughts and emotions, and strengthen their coping mechanisms during challenging times. Through meaningful discussions and psychosocial activities, participants were reminded of the importance of self-care, emotional well-being, and collective resilience.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this activity. Together, we continue to foster a caring, supportive, and resilient school community.

💪🌱 Stronger together, rising above challenges with hope and resilience.

School principals are authorized to choose the most suitable learning modality, whether that means using alternative methods or returning to in-person classes, provided all safety guidelines are strictly followed.

💚DEPED GENSAN MENTAL HEALTH KALINGA 💚

Earthquakes don't just shake the ground beneath us—they can also shake our peace of mind. It is completely normal to feel anxious, overwhelmed, or frightened after experiencing an earthquake.

Remember, taking care of your mental well-being is just as important as ensuring your physical safety. Kalinga starts with oneself.

Here are 8 Individual Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Tips to help you navigate through these challenging times:

1️⃣ Acknowledge Your Emotions – Understand that fear, anxiety, and shock are natural responses to a crisis. Be kind to yourself.

2️⃣ Practice Deep Breathing – Ground yourself by breathing in slowly through your nose and out through your mouth to calm your nervous system.

3️⃣ Maintain a Routine – As much as safely possible, stick to healthy meals, stay hydrated, and get adequate rest.

4️⃣ Connect with Loved Ones – Talk to your family, friends, or trusted people. Sharing your feelings provides comfort and strength.

5️⃣ Limit Negative Media Exposure – Take necessary breaks from social media and news. Stay informed through official updates, but avoid sensationalism and rumors.

6️⃣ Engage in Physical Activity – Try gentle stretching, walking, or light exercises to help relieve built-up physical tension.

7️⃣ Focus on What You Can Control – Concentrate on your immediate safety measures, preparing your disaster kits, and following official guidance rather than worrying about the unpredictable.

8️⃣ Seek Professional Help – If distress, flashbacks, or sleeplessness persist, do not hesitate to reach out to our guidance counselors, mental health professionals, or dedicated hotlines. Help is always available.

Let us look out for one another, DepEd GenSan family. You are not alone in this journey toward healing and resilience. 🤝✨
