Knights of Columbus in Poland have set up a series of tents — or “mercy huts” — at the Poland-Ukraine border in Hrebenne, Poland, to welcome refugees escaping violence in Ukraine — continuing the spirit of the Order’s “Everybody Welcome, Everything Free” campaign in Europe during World War I. The huts are one way the Knights of Columbus are providing immediate aid to refugees and displaced families. To date, over $4 million has been raised to provide shelter, food, medical supplies, clothing and other relief for those fleeing the violence in Ukraine.

Knights of Columbus aims to raise over $1m for Ukrainian refugees The Knights of Columbus announced Friday it is giving $1 million for Ukrainian refugees fleeing Russia’s invasion. More than 50,000 have already entered Poland alone.

Today is traditionally the beginning of Las Posadas — meaning “the inns” or “the shelters” — celebrations across the United States, Mexico and Latin America where the faithful reenact St. Joseph and the Blessed Virgin Mary’s search for shelter. Knights of Columbus are encouraged to organize Posada celebrations in addition to engaging in charitable activities for their neighbors in need. Learn more. https://bit.ly/3p2ifaO
