April 9 marks the annual observance of Araw ng Kagitingan, a day dedicated to the memory of the Filipino and American forces who served during the Fall of Bataan in 1942. This historic event serves as a reminder of the immense sacrifice and resilience shown by the veterans who endured the hardships of the Second World War.

The courage displayed on the battlefields and during the Bataan Death March continues to be a cornerstone of the national identity. By reflecting on this chapter of history, the youth and the student community can draw inspiration from the values of duty and perseverance that defined that generation.

This commemoration is a tribute to all veterans whose service secured the foundations of the nation's freedom. 🇵🇭

𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗦𝗢𝗚𝗢𝗡 𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬 — Sorsogon State University (SorSU) continues its streak of excellence as two SorSUeños broke into the top 10 of the March 2026 Civil Engineers Licensure Examination (CELE).

Leading the new batch of professionals are Engr. Joshua Latonero De Los Reyes, who clinched the Top 4 spot with a 92.00% rating, and Engr. Cleo Glen Gratuito Barrera, who secured Top 9 with a 91.40% rating.

The "Pamantasang May Puso" produced a total of 33 new civil engineers in the said boards. SorSU notably outperformed the national passing rate, recording an impressive 73.81% passing percentage for first-time takers and a 60.00% overall institutional passing rate.

This is significantly higher than the 35.05% national passing rate reported by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), where only 6,438 out of 18,370 examinees nationwide successfully passed the exam.

Sorsogon City — In a proactive response to the volatile weather patterns and the projected rise in the national heat index, the Sorsogon State University Office of the President has issued 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗺 𝗡𝗼. 𝟬𝟰𝟭, 𝘀. 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

While the region has experienced a recent dip in temperature, the university administration is implementing these measures to ensure the long-term well-being and academic productivity of the community as the dry season approaches.

𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀
𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟭𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, all students, faculty, and personnel are authorized to wear comfortable attire for work and classes, provided the following institutional standards are met:
• 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: Attire for Personnel must align with the prescribed daily uniform colors: Gray, Pink, Purple, and Beige/Tan.
• 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗹: The University Identification Card must be worn and visible at all times within campus premises.
• 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗹: Filipiniana and ASEAN-inspired attire remain mandatory for personnel during the weekly Flag Raising Ceremony.
• 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀: The relaxed dress code does not permit the use of short pants, sleeveless tops, or slippers.

The university reminds the community that "𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲" is intended to help students and staff adapt to environmental stressors while maintaining the professional decorum of the institution.

In celebration of the 𝟐𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡, the University Student Council together with 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 and 𝗦𝗼𝗿𝗦𝗨 Office of the Student Regent invites all bona fide SorSU students across all campuses to take part in the 𝘿𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙋𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙈𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙄𝙣𝙛𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙥𝙝𝙞𝙘 𝙈𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 anchored on this year’s theme:
