It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our beloved Father Richard. He passed away peacefully today, 13th November 2023 at about 2 pm in Barcelona, Spain

Very Reverend Father Riccardo Germanetto CRS dedicated his life to serving God and humanity with unwavering love, compassion, and guidance. He was a pillar of strength, a source of inspiration, and a dear father and friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was one of the foundation of the Somascan Fathers Mission in Nigerian. Every Nigerian Somascan Priest and Religious Passed through him. He was the post novice master from 2012 till 2019, and from 2019 to 2023 he was the novice master.

Shortly after father's Ordination over 50 years ago, Father was posted to Spain where he began his missionary work. Soon after some decade he was posted to the Philippines where he also served God and the people with love, compassion and dedication. In 2012, @ the age of 72, Father accepted to come over to Nigeria to join other Religious to begin Nigerian mission. During these years in Nigeria, father has birthed 14 priests, 4 deacons and 20 religious.

Dearest beloved, during this difficult time, let us support one another and find solace in the knowledge that Reverend Father Richard has left behind a legacy of love, faith, and kindness. His spirit will continue to guide and inspire us always. May we all take a moment to honor and remember this wonderful servant of God, whose dedication and selflessness have touched countless lives. We Love you Fr.
