The CCDI Sorsogon Wildcats Team once again proved its strength and determination after delivering an outstanding performance at the National PRISAA Games 2026 held from May 5–16, 2026 in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental. Competing against some of the best private school athletes in the country, the Wildcats proudly brought home a total of 36 medals β€” 8 Gold, 12 Silver, and 16 Bronze β€” showcasing the institution’s growing excellence in sports.

Leading the Wildcats’ golden campaign was Dylan Solomon, who dominated the Weightlifting 85 kg category by capturing three gold medals through his exceptional power and technique. In Karatedo, Ma Sofia Kyazent dela Cruz and Adana Althea Guevarra displayed remarkable teamwork and discipline as they secured two gold medals in Team Kata competition. Another gold medal performance came from Justine Abonales, who emerged victorious in the Boxing Youth 48 kg division after an impressive run inside the ring.

The Wildcats also collected numerous silver medal finishes. Angelo Discaya earned three silver medals in Karatedo, while John Russel Borromeo delivered a strong performance to capture silver in Boxing Youth B 51 kg. Fernanda Rosendo also fought valiantly to secure silver in the Senior 52 kg Boxing category.

Adding to the medal haul were the bronze medalists led by Glaiza Las PiΓ±as, who won three bronze medals in the Weightlifting 61 kg division. Ma Sofia Kyazent dela Cruz added another bronze medal to her collection in Karatedo, while John Carlo Peralta claimed bronze in the Senior 60 kg Boxing division.

The Wildcats also made a huge impact in Archery, contributing several medals for Region V and CCDI Sorsogon. Gabriell Guirondola shined with a gold medal in Team Boys, along with bronze medals in the Olympic Round, 60 meters, and Mixed Team events. Irish Lajada captured silver in the Under-18 Girls Team and bronze in the 50-meter category.

Amara Malana delivered one of the most impressive performances in archery by winning silver medals in the 50 meters and Under-18 Girls Team events, while also collecting bronze medals in the 60 meters, 70 meters, Overall category, Mixed Team, and Olympic Rounds.

Fiel Valladolid contributed silver in the Under-25 Women’s Team and bronze medals in the 30-meter and 70-meter categories. Sabrina Sipoy and Lauren Degracia both earned silver medals in the Under-18 Girls Team event, while Siamuel Rone secured gold in the Under-18 Boys Team competition. Christopher Estur added another silver medal for the Wildcats after finishing runner-up in the Men’s Team category.

The remarkable performance of the CCDI Sorsogon Wildcats Team reflects the athletes’ hard work, discipline, and commitment, as well as the unwavering support of their coaches, trainers, school officials, and supporters. Their success at the National PRISAA Games 2026 continues to inspire pride among the CCDI community and further strengthens the institution’s reputation as one of the rising sports powerhouses in the country.

β€œTatak CCDI, Matibay!” once again echoed proudly in Bacolod City as the Wildcats demonstrated heart, resilience, and championship spirit on the national stage.

JOHN CARLO PERALTA, made it to finish bronze in the PRISAA boxing competition despite of his arm injury caused by his fight during the National Boxing Championship in Sorsogon, a few days left before his PRISAA's bid.

The promising young boxer is expected to give more medals in PRISAA in the upcoming competitions.

Congratulations, JC! You may not made it for GOLD becuase of your injury but we remain PROUD of you!
