A pleasure to host a quick visit from our colleagues from the University of Nueva Caceres (UNC) today! We were delighted to reconnect with Ms. Mary Grace Taburnal (Instructor), Ms. Lourdes Perez Francisco (Librarian), Ms. Aileen D. Domanico (Librarian), and Ms. Alaisa Bolvar (Instructor).

What an incredible run! The SorsU Library successfully concluded its extended 35th LIS Month and 91st National Book Week celebrations on December 2nd. Thank you to everyone who joined in the spirit of reading and service!

Due to the suspension of face-to-face classes this week, our celebration of Library & Information Services (LIS) Month and National Book Week (NBW) 2025 is extended until December 3, 2025. ✨We invite everyone to participate in our ongoing and upcoming activities.✨

We began the festivities last November 7, 2025 with BOOKS IN BLOOM, a book donation campaign that aims to collect various information materials—from preschool to college level—for distribution to underserved libraries and communities.
Through this initiative, we hope to spread the joy of reading and help nurture literate, empowered citizens.
📍 The drop-off box is located at the entrance of the library. ✨ Support the campaign by donating used books or brand-new learning materials. Campaign runs until December.✨

As part of our community engagement efforts, Project L.I.B.R.O aims to nurture children’s love for reading and lifelong learning.
Our first beneficiary this year was the Salog Child Development Center, visited last November 20, 2025 at the SorSU Library. Activities included:
✔️ Reading and storytelling sessions
✔️ Literacy-focused learning experiences
✔️ Donation of books, musical instruments, and school supplies
These contributions support the children's continued learning and creativity.

Did you know that you can check which books are available for reading even before you go to the DBM Library? With the Koha Integrated Library System (ILS), you can 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗕𝗠 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆’𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲!

The Koha ILS lists all the books and other materials available for public use, as well as their publication details.

Make it a habit to check the Koha ILS first before you visit the DBM Library. Scan the QR code or visit https://library.dbm.gov.ph/ to start browsing.

Once you’ve chosen a book or material, go ahead and visit the DBM Library at the Arcache Building along Gen. Solano St. in San Miguel, Manila. It’s open Mondays through Fridays, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
