By the final tally decreed by the Order of Elementum, House Caelum emerged as Overall Champion, with House Ignis claiming second, followed by House Terra, House Silva, and House Ventus in the final reckoning of the arena.

Representing their respective programs with excellence and pride, Erickson Hernan of Bachelor of Secondary Education - Major in Filipino (BSEd Filipino) and Irishlyn Manatlao of Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) were crowned tonight, May 5, as Mr. and Ms. CoTEd 2026 during the College of Teacher Education (CoTEd) Days, at SorSU Covered Court.
As the search began, nine male-female candidate pairs of different programs competed in production number, specialization attire, and advocacy presentations.
Hernan advocated for the use of the Filipino language as an aid for more contextualized learning and an inclusive classroom environment. Meanwhile, Manatlao promoted Project BAYLE (Bringing an Active and Youthful Lifestyle for Everyone), a movement that conducts dance fitness programs in local barangays to encourage physical fitness.
The competition continued as candidates showcased their grace and charisma in school uniform and formal evening wear.
During the preliminary question-and-answer portion, each representative picked a word from a basket and shared their insights.
Hernan drew the word โ€œovercrowdingโ€ and discussed the growing population in the Philippines and its impact on the education sector. Manatlao, on the other hand, picked the word โ€œqualityโ€ and emphasized quality education as one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
While waiting for the scores to be tabulated, the event proceeded with the awarding of special and minor awards, where Hernan bagged multiple recognitions, including Peopleโ€™s Choice Award, Best in Ramp, and Best in Specialization Attire, while Manatlao secured the awards for Ms. Photogenic and Best in Formal Attire.
Afterwards, the top 3 candidates for both male and female categories were announced with Hernan and Manatlao making it to the final cut joined by Jose Luis Dometita of BPEd, Lawrence Escote of Bachelor of Special Needs Education (BSNEd), Eunice Deniega of Bachelor of Secondary Education - Major in English, and Alexa Daniela Bautista of Bachelor of Secondary Education - Major in Mathematics.
In the final question-and-answer portion, Hernan was asked what steps he would take to support students with potential who are hindered by poverty. He emphasized the importance of encouraging students to continue pursuing their goals and to never give up.
Meanwhile, Manatlao was asked whether she believes teachers are sufficiently valued and supported. She pointed to the current state of the education system, noting that teachers often receive inadequate support from the government. She added that educators should be better provided for, particularly in terms of access to adequate learning materials.
With their dominant performances, Hernan and Manatlao both sealed the titles of Mr. and Ms. CoTEd 2026. Escote and Deniega were announced as first runner-ups, and Dometita and Bautista finished as second runner-ups.
The competition was part of the three-day celebration of the Eduk Week 2026 with the theme, โ€œElementum: Forging the Elements of Teaching Excellence," organized by the Future Educators Guild (FEG) together with the minor organizations under the College of Teacher Education.
