All levels of classes in Sorsogon are suspended starting September 25, 2025 due to the tropical Storm "Opong".

Sorsogon Governor Edwin “Boboy” B. Hamor has issued Executive Order No. 53, signed September 24, 2025, ordering the suspension of classes at all levels across the province starting September 25, 2025.

The directive follows the recommendation of the Sorsogon Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (SPDRRMO) due to the impending threat of Tropical Storm "Opong" .

Under the Local Government Code of 1991, the provincial governor has the authority to issue executive orders to safeguard public welfare.

The measure aims to protect students, teachers, and school personnel from potential risks brought by the storm.

Copies of the order have been distributed to all local government units, DepEd Division Offices, and concerned agencies for immediate compliance and guidance.

Governor Hamor stressed that the safety of every Sorsoganon remains the province’s top priority.
