SLCS tricycle drivers showed initiative by planting vegetables in the garden area beside the Elementary Building.

The activity was part of their effort to help maintain the cleanliness and beauty of the school vicinity while promoting a greener and healthier environment.

Their simple yet meaningful initiative reflects the importance of community involvement and shared responsibility in keeping the school surroundings clean, productive, and sustainable.

The ECHO Staffers bag awards at PROJOURN 2026

The ECHO staffers of Saint Louis College of Solano (SLCS) Grade School Department bagged several awards at PROJOURN 2026, a three-day Journalism Seminar-Workshop attended by schools from the Diocese of Bayombong Educational System (DBES), held at Saint Louis College of Solano from August 20โ€“22, 2026.

The recognition highlighted the staffersโ€™ skills, creativity, and dedication to campus journalism as they competed and participated in various journalism activities throughout the seminar-workshop.

The ECHO Staffers Join PROJOURN 2026 (part 2)

Thirty-three The ECHO staffers participated in the PROJOURN 2026: Promoting Responsible and Outstanding Campus Journalism, together with student-journalists and school paper advisers from the different schools of the Diocese of Bayombong Educational System (DBES), held at Saint Louis College of Solano (SLCS), on August 20โ€“22, 2026.

The three-day journalism seminar-workshop aimed to enhance the skills and knowledge of campus journalists in various journalism disciplines through lectures, demonstrations, hands-on activities, and a writeshop.

The participants learned from experienced speakers who shared their expertise in different journalism categories.

Ms. Julie Ann C. Gajes talked on News Writing and Reinmark J. Tamani, LPT handled Copy Reading and Headline Writing, while Ranniel Semana discussed Video Production.

Junie Ann A. Mariano, LPT, MAEd shared her expertise in Editorial Cartooning and Opinion Writing, while Cezar Galisi, LPT, MAELL focused on Newsroom Management for Campus Journalism and Radio Broadcasting.

Meanwhile, Dr. Jhun Fernando tackled Sports Writing and Science Writing, Shanly Mae F. Antonio, LPT discussed Feature Writing, and Jenick Tagao, LPT shared techniques in Photojournalism.

Aside from the lectures and discussions, the seminar featured a writeshop, where student-journalists were given opportunities to apply the techniques and principles they had learned. Participants produced outputs in their respective journalism categories and were recognized for their outstanding works.

The three-day seminar-workshop was made possible through the dedicated leadership and collaborative efforts of the Clarion advisers, Ms. Shanly Mae F. Antonio and Ms. Jemille O. Culanag, and The ECHO adviser, Ms. Monette E. Mendoza.

The organizers also expressed their sincere gratitude to the Saint Louis College of Solano administration for its unwavering support in making the journalism training possible.
