๐๐„๐–๐’ | BNHS Crowns Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2025

Cheering crowds, passion for winning, and excitement filled the entire Bagabag National High School campus on August 29, 2025, as Nationalians gathered at the gymnasium for the Search for Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2025, held as part of this yearโ€™s Intramurals celebration with the theme, โ€œUpholding Solidarity Through Sports, A Zest for Life.โ€

Hosted by Sir Benjie C. Ifurung and Ma'am Roseanne Marie T. Basilio, the pageant showcased the talents, confidence, and school spirit of student representatives from five competing units: Lireo, Hathoria, Adamya, Sapiro, and Mineโ€™ave.

The program began with the introduction of the board of judges and the reading of contest criteria, followed by a dynamic production number that brought the stage to life. Contestants then moved through various segments, including the talent portion, sportswear competition, and the always exciting question-and-answer round.

Ten candidates showcased their talent, wit, and poise as they competed for the top spot. Two outstanding students, Clyde C. Liban from Unit 5 Mineโ€™ave and Koreanne Britz Elevado from Unit 3 Adamya, were crowned Mr. and Ms. Intramurals, respectively.

The event not only highlighted beauty and talent but also promoted confidence, leadership, and unity among students. With loud cheers and strong support from classmates and teachers, the Search for Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2025 became one of the most exciting and memorable highlights of the school year.

๐…๐„๐€๐“๐”๐‘๐„ | Buwan ng Wika: One Nation, Woven by Various Dialects

Without our language, how can we truly express our identity as Filipinos?

Buwan ng Wika, or Language Month, is celebrated every August in the Philippines to honor the national language, Filipino, and to recognize the countryโ€™s rich linguistic diversity. It reminds us that language is not only a means of communication but also a vital part of our culture, history, and national identity. Through various activities in schools and communities, Filipinos are encouraged to take pride in their mother tongue while embracing Filipino as a unifying language. This celebration strengthens our sense of unity and highlights the importance of preserving and promoting our language for future generations.

At Bagabag National High School, this yearโ€™s celebration carried the theme โ€œFilipino at Katutubong Wika: Susi sa Pagkakaisa ng Bansa.โ€ The event embraced the four aspects of growthโ€”social, physical, mental, and spiritualโ€”as students and teachers came together in solidarity, proving that language indeed unites.

The program opened with meaningful words from Mr. Johnny T. Pagaduan, followed by an inspirational message from the school principal, Maโ€™am Teresita M. Taboy, who encouraged students to value their culture and heritage.

Beyond the formal messages, the celebration came alive with an atmosphere of joy and pride. Students walked across the stage in graceful fashion, while the audience admired the intricate designs and colorful fabrics of the attires. Each presentation became more than just a display of beautyโ€”it became a storytelling moment, showing how deeply rooted traditions continue to shape the Filipino identity in modern times.

One of the highlights of the celebration was the Parade of Attires, where students from Grades 7 to 12 proudly showcased the beauty of Philippine clothing. Traditional garments like the Baroโ€™t Saya and Barong Tagalog graced the stage alongside ethnic attires such as the bahag, reflecting the vibrant and diverse roots of the Filipino people. Winners were chosen from each grade levelโ€”one male and one femaleโ€”symbolizing how the younger generation continues to carry the torch of cultural pride.

But the event was not just about the parade; it was about recognizing that these attires, like our language, are more than just cultural displays. They are symbols of our identity as Filipinosโ€”reminders that even in diversity, we are bound together by a shared heritage and a common language.

As the celebration came to a close, the words of Dr. Josรฉ Rizal echoed: โ€œAng hindi marunong magmahal sa sariling wika, masahol pa sa hayop at malansang isda.โ€โ€”which means, โ€œHe who does not love his own language is worse than an animal and a smelly fish.โ€
