For Our Motherly Guide in Mathematics
Thirty-five years of steady light,
through chalk-dusted mornings and late-school nights,
you traced theorems across young, wondering minds,
and turned confusion into lines that bind.
Not just numbers, not just rules to learn,
but hearts you taught how truth can turn—
from fear of equations, sharp and cold,
to courage in stories numbers told.
You were never just the office door,
or lessons planned and problems to explore;
you were the calm when doubts ran deep,
the quiet assurance: you can leap.
A mentor not from distance or pride,
but one who walked right by our side;
correcting gently, pushing us through,
yet always believing we could too.
Thirty-five years—yet still you remain
in every solved problem, every gain,
in every student who found their way
through math, through life, through each new day.
And beyond the titles, beyond the role,
you held us closer than curriculum or goal;
not just co-teachers sharing a space,
but family bound in time and grace.
So here’s our gratitude, simple and true—
for the patience, care, and all that you do.
In every equation, in every part,
you’ve long been the constant in every heart.
