We have successfully concluded our 2-day multi-sectoral seminar on combatting OSAEC. Frontline protectors from across Sogod showed exemplary dedication during today's live demonstrations and community simulation sessions!

PROTECTING OUR CHILDREN IN THE DIGITAL AGE: Day 1 Successful!

The Local Government Unit of Sogod, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) in partnership with Rural Health Unit, successfully kicked off Day 1 of the multi-sectoral seminar: “Strengthening Local Response to Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC): A Multi-Sectoral Seminar for Frontline Protectors” at Hotel De SLSU.

Karong adlawa ang atong mga dedicated frontline workers nga mga hild Development Workers (CDWs), Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), Midwives, and MNCHN Nurses nag ka tigum to sharpen their skills in identifying red flags, understanding OSAEC patterns, and strengthening community-based referral pathways.

By equipping our barangay-level protectors with the right tools and knowledge, we ensure that no community is left behind in the fight against child exploitation and human trafficking.
Thank you to all our partners, advocates, and community members who stand with us in this mission. Together, we build safer spaces, stronger networks, and a future where every child is free from fear and exploitation.

✨ Violence-Free Schools: Building Accountability Together✨

Ang Lungsod sa Sogod, inubanan sa Rural Health Unit (RHU), Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), has officially launched the Violence-Free Schools Initiative last September 18, 2026 at Consolacion National High School and Libas National High School.

With the presence of Hon. Rozelyn Paranas, who shared the purpose of the activity, ug si Doc. Mark Mato nga naghatag og insightful discussion on child and adolescent brain development — how it affects decision-making, impulse control, and risk-taking behaviors.

Ms. Princess Grace Navales (MSWDO) also emphasized the importance of collective responsibility, while Christine Junna Recto tackled the legal consequences under RA 9344 (Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act), balancing accountability with rehabilitation.

The Municipal Police Station gave a live demonstration on self-protection against gun violence, which was well-received by both students and parents who actively participated in the campaign.

This is just the beginning. Daghan pa kaayong mga susamang activities ang giandam sa lungsod aron mas lig-on ang proteksyon ug kalinaw sa atong mga eskwelahan.

✨ Kabataang May Malasakit ✨
Sogod Central School initiated a Symposium on Mental Wellness, Well-Being, and Anti-Bullying with the participation of Grade 4–6 student leaders. This activity promotes the holistic development, safety, and well-being of learners.

The MSWD Office, through Social Workers Christine Junna C. Recto and Kathering Anne Nilo, was given the opportunity to be part of the program as resource speakers, together with the PNP and the School Nurse.

Sa maong diskusyon, gi-emphasize ang kahinungdanon sa kindness, empathy, ug responsible leadership — values nga makatabang sa mga kabataan nga mahimong boses ng kabutihan sa ilang klase, pamilya, ug komunidad.

Congratulations to Sogod Central School for initiating this meaningful activity, and to our student leaders for their active participation. Together, we build a generation of children with malasakit — caring hearts, strong voices, and responsible leadership.

Ang atong lungsod naghatag ug cash subsidy worth ₱3,000 alang sa 30 indigent ug registered Solo Parents para sa 1st Semester of 2026.

Kini nga programa usa ka dakong tabang sa mga panginahanglan sa mga anak sa Solo Parents, ug usa ka pahayag nga ang LGU Sogod naghatag ug importansya ug suporta sa ilang sakripisyo ug responsibilidad.

✅ Kinsa ang naka-dawat?
Indigent ug Registered Solo Parents nga nagkinabuhi ubos sa poverty threshold.

Padayon ta sa pagpalig-on sa mga pamilya ug paghatag ug suporta sa mga ginikanan nga nag-inusara sa pag-atiman sa ilang mga anak ug pamilya.
