Message from the News Anchor

As I write this, I’m feeling a mix of gratitude and a little bit of sadness. Being part of TWC, our school publication has been one of the most meaningful experiences I’ve had.

Radio broadcasting was a breakthrough for me. Gaining confidence behind the mic, delivering news, and writing scripts. These made me learn to stand with confidence and harness my skills.

To my coaches, Ma’am Morata and Ma’am Alibo, thank you for trusting me, guiding me, and growing with me. Every script we worked on, every correction, every laugh behind the scenes—those are moments I will always carry with me. You all helped shape not just my skills, but also who I am today.

To my fellow members, thank you for the teamwork and support. To our mentors, thank you for your patience and belief in us.

I may be stepping away from this role, but a part of me will always remain here with all of you.

This isn’t really goodbye—it’s just “see you around.” I’m rooting for all of you as you continue to tell stories and make a difference.

I surely will miss the DSPC and RSPC chaos. ☺️

Message from the Photojournalist

As I officially sign off as your school photographer, I would like to take a moment to say thank you. This role has been more than just taking pictures—it has been about capturing emotions, friendships, and the unforgettable moments that define our school life.

Being a photographer in our school has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. I am thankful for the opportunity to serve as your school photographer and for the trust you gave me to document these memories. Every click of the camera was a chance to preserve something important.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our TWC Adviser, Ma'am Dionita Morata, for the guidance, support, and trust given to me. I am also deeply thankful to our School Principal, Sir Joan Sayson, for the opportunity and for allowing me to serve as the school photographer.

As I sign off, I will always keep these experiences and moments close to me.

Message from the Sci-Tech Writer

Each week, this space became more than just a channel—it became a place where ideas were shared, voices were heard, and genuine connections were built. It gave us a sense of belonging, a place where we could express ourselves freely and grow together.

The end does not mean everything is finished; it simply means a new beginning is waiting for us. As one chapter closes, another opens—bringing new opportunities, new challenges, and new dreams to pursue.

I am deeply grateful to be part of this organization. It has given me countless opportunities to grow, to explore my potential, and to discover more about myself. Most importantly, it taught me how to love writing—not just as a skill, but as a passion that comes from the heart. It showed me that words have power, and that our voices truly matter.

To Ma’am Dionita D. Morata, thank you for opening the door for us to be here. Your guidance and trust have inspired us to step forward with confidence. And to the staff of The Weekly Channel, thank you for your hard work, dedication, and for creating a space where we felt valued and heard.

As we say goodbye, we carry with us not just memories, but lessons, friendships, and inspiration that will stay in our hearts. This may be the end of our time in this channel, but it will never be the end of the impact it has made on us.

Thank you for everything , new beginnings, brighter paths, and the stories we have yet to write, especially our alma mater that given us the education we carry all day.

Message from the Editorial Cartoonist/Illustrator

As I wrap up this chapter of my life, I just want to take a moment to share some thoughts and gratitude for my alma mater, Sipalay City National High School.

SCNHS has been more than a school for me—it’s been a place that pushed me, changed me, and helped me grow into who I am today. It’s where I stepped out of my comfort zone, discovered what I’m passionate about, and learned to face both victories and setbacks with courage.

Everything really started in Grade 11 when I first stumbled upon The Weekly Channel page. I remember scrolling through posts, reading articles, and being completely blown away by the creativity of the writers and the team. But what really grabbed me was the editorial cartooning. Suddenly, a thought popped into my head: “I want to be part of this publication.”

At first, it felt like just a dream. Then thoughts came : "kasulod ko ni ayhan?, kung oo, kaya ko ayhan?"

Even before joining, my mind was already filled with all sorts of questions and doubts.

But by Grade 12, things took an unexpected turn. A friend had to leave his position because he's transferring to another school, and it was that same friend who encouraged me to take over their role, and that dream became real.

Joining The Weekly Channel has been one of the happiest experiences of my life. It wasn’t just about drawing—it was about serving others, expressing myself creatively, and using my art to tell and fight for the truth.

Being part of TWC Batch 3 has been an amazing ride. Late nights, pressure, struggling to visualize ideas, cramming—it all became part of a journey I’ll never forget. These are the moments I’ll miss the most.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our school principal, Sir Joan L. Sayson, for continuously supporting student voices and helping our publication thrive.

To our school paper Adviser, Ma’am Dionita D. Morata, thank you for welcoming me into The Weekly Channel, for your patience, and for guiding me as I grew into an editorial cartoonist.

To Ma’am April Joy Alibo, thank you for coaching me, believing in my potential, and giving me the opportunity to step onto the DSPC stage which led me to RSPC. Although I did not bring home any medals, representing our school was already an honor, and it remains one of the most unforgettable experiences of my high school life.

And to everyone, schoolmates, my classmates, friends and peers who encouraged me along my journey, I am so grateful.

As I move forward, I carry with me everything SCNHS and TWC have taught me. This isn’t the end of my story here—it’s the start of a new journey, fueled by everything I’ve learned.

To the next editorial cartoonist: I believe in you. I’m passing my pen to you—use it with courage, creativity, and purpose. Draw not just to express yourself, but to speak the truth and inspire others. Trust your voice, trust the process, and never be afraid to let your ideas shine.

As for me, I leave with a full heart and memories I will always treasure. Farewell to my alma mater SCNHS and TWC, thank you for everything. This experience will always be a part of me.

With all my gratitude and pride, I take my final bow as an editorial cartoonist.

Farewell, TWC.

Message from the Photographer

As my journey as your school photographer comes to an end, I want to take a moment to reflect and say thank you to everyone who made this experience unforgettable.

Being trusted with a camera meant more than just taking photos — it meant being part of the moments that brought our school together.

From school events to simple everyday moments, it was an honor to capture the stories that make our school community special.

Each photograph holds a piece of our shared experiences, and I am grateful that I was given the chance to preserve them.

I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to our TWC adviser, Ma'am Dionita Morata, for the guidance and encouragement throughout my time in this role.

I also thank our School Principal, Sir Joan Sayson, for the opportunity and trust to serve as the school photographer.

Though I may be putting the camera down, the memories and lessons from this journey will always stay with me. Thank you for letting me be a part of your memories.

Message from the Phtojournalist/Layout artist

As I stand here today to say goodbye to my alma matter SCNHS, my heart is full of emotion that cannot be seen on how I am so grateful on this opportunity who shape me of who I am today.

Looking back on the past three years from 2024 to 2026 I realize how special this journey has been for me as a layout artist and a photojournalist.

‎Being a layout artist, every lay out was a chance to bring stories to life. I still remember when 2024, I was just starting and still learning and not have any experience when it comes to this organization. I was so clueless and one day Ma'am Morata told me, "pwede na ka join kay may ma tudlo na." Manong Aljay Almeida, the former lay out artist and also photojournalist was the one who taught me.

On my first journey he always made sure that he had the time to teach me on how to edit through Canva. My humble beginnings were tough and I started from scratch.

2025, where I became more confident, I gave my best in every design. Until 2026 the last year I learned that it’s not just about placing texts and photos it’s about making each story clear, meaningful, and beautiful.

‎In my journey as a photojournalist, I was lucky to capture many events in our school. From the events in 2024 to the stories in 2026.

In every photo I took was not just about what happened, but also about the emotions behind it. I tried my best to capture real moments that all of them can remember the past moments.

‎Being part of campus journalism for three years felt like being part of a family. We worked together, helped each other, and shared both stress and happiness.

I learned so much from all of you, and I will always be thankful. Now that I am moving on, I will carry all the lessons, memories, and friendship with me.

‎Thank you for trusting me and for being part of my journey. I will never forget these three years.

‎Goodbye, and keep shining my alma mater!

Message from Photojournalist

A bittersweet farewell!

As my Senior High School chapter came to an end, that also means saying goodbye to one thing that I love doing the most—sharing stories and capturing every moment through the lens of a camera where people can reminisce and feel the heat of the moment even through a photograph.

As I move on from this position, I want to acknowledge the efforts of our School Head, Sir Joan Sayson for his unwavering support for me and my team. I also want to thank our TWC adviser, Ma'am Dionita Morata for giving me this opportunity to use my skill as a voice for myself, the school, and the community.

Before I officially signed up as a photographer for The Weekly Channel, it started with me hanging out with other official photographers of TWC, as I continued to come with them covering different events — that’s where I started to get interested until I decided to join and learn what being a photographer is really about.

My journey wasn't easy because I doubted myself a lot of times: "What if I can’t handle the responsibilities of being a photographer?" Despite all the worries and what-ifs, with the help of the people who believed in me, who helped me excel even more on this craft, I managed to push through and continued to capture moments, share stories, and inspire others.

As I unlock a new chapter of my life, all of the lessons I learned throughout this journey will always be part of who I am today and who I will become.

To all of the people who supported me and believed in me, Thank you so much!

I am officially signing off.

Message from the News Writer

Before I went to high school, I thought it was motivation that would push me throughout the entire high school life. I thought appreciating my parents sacrifices would push me. I thought relentless late nights would be enough. But, I was wrong, it was discipline and prayer that helped me survive. Disciplined enough to wake up, disciplined enough to show up, disciplined enough to pass before deadlines.

SCNHS is not just about the infrastructure, strand that it offers, and quality education. I realized that there is something more within it, something more that lives with it. It was the advisers that taught me to socialize, nurtured me to be better, and honed me to be myself and all of that are much appreciated.

Way back in 2023, I was in Grade 9, my first ever experience in campus journalism where I got ranked in DSPC and later on went to RSPC. I was filled with nervousness and excitement. Something I couldn't explain what I was feeling. Maybe because it was my first time or because I doubted myself.

In Grade 11, I joined again not for clout but because I felt like it is something that calls me, I felt that it's something that lives within me. Then, the DSPC came unexpectedly but gladly I won First Place.

The feeling was unexplainable but there was something lit inside me. We went on our way to RSPC the venue was filled with tension and every journalism was filled with competitiveness. I didn't make it though, and I felt like I was not enough and I needed to be better.

In my Grade 12 campus journalism, I didn't make it, I was unqualified to proceed to RSPC. My heart shattered in an instant, tears were flowing and I didn't know how to react. The love for journalism that once pushed me was now cold and pale, I was disappointed and it felt heavy.

To our school principal, Sir Joan L. Sayson, thank you for the unwavering support and dedication to fulfill the emptiness within our school.

To our school paper adviser, Dionita D. Morata, it was an honor and privilege to have you as our school paper adviser. Honored because you made us what we are today and privileged to do something that lives with us.

To my fellow TWC staff members, it was a pleasure to meet you guys, although we weren't close enough to connect, but also we weren't that distant to misjudge each other.

To my dear coach, Chin–Chin B. Teologo, I am forever grateful and thankful for introducing me to campus journalism.

Journalism is not just about spreading news, sometimes it is a way to express ourselves. To everyone I met throughout the entire high school journey and campus journalism, Adios!

Message from the News Writer

To my beloved Campus Journalism family, The Weekly Channel,

It still feels unreal writing this. For the longest time, this publication has been more than just an organization to me, it has been a safe space and a place where I grew not only as a writer, but as a person.

Now at the close of my high school journey, I find myself at the edge of a chapter in my life that I never wanted to end. Bidding farewell is way harder than I expected. I started questioning myself, "How do you properly leave behind a place that has given you so much?"

I came into The Weekly Channel with curiosity, a handful of uncertainty, and a quiet hope that I would find where I belonged. What I didn't expect was to find people who would soon challenge me, inspire me, and support me through my journey here. From writing stories, editing pieces late into the night, laughing over small mistakes, and getting to write my first ever feature story that was published in our page, every moment became a memory I will carry with me.

To my fellow writers, editors, photographers, and especially to our publication adviser, Dionita Morata and many others. Thank you for the shared passion, and the countless moments that turned my stress into something meaningful. You taught me that journalism is not just about writing stories, but about telling the truth, raising our voices, and making an impact.

To the younger members, please continue what we have started. There will be times when it gets overwhelming and when you doubt your abilities. But trust me, you are far more capable than what you think of yourself. Keep writing, keep questioning, and most importantly, keep caring. The publication will grow with you, just as it did with us.

To our teachers, thank you for guiding us, believing in us, and pushing us to do better even when we thought we had already done enough. Your lessons go beyond the classroom, they are lessons I will bring with me wherever I go.

The Weekly Channel shaped me in ways I cannot fully put into words. It gave me confidence, a voice, and a purpose. It taught me that stories matter, and that I matter too.

As I step forward into a new journey, my words will stay behind, for they carry parts of me with them. With every article written and every memory we created together. This is not just goodbye. It is a thank you, for everything.

I will always be proud to have been part of this family. The deadline ends here, but my journey with words continues.

With all my gratitude and love,

Message from the News Writer

Now that we have officially graduated, I would like to take this opportunity to leave a message for my alma mater, Sipalay City National High School.

SCNHS has been more than just a place of learning—it has been a second home where I experienced growth, challenges, and unforgettable memories. Throughout my years here, I learned not only academic knowledge but also valuable life lessons that shaped my character and prepared me for the future.

There were countless moments of pressure, deadlines, and responsibilities that once felt overwhelming. But looking back now, those challenges made me stronger, more disciplined, and more resilient. Every struggle became a lesson, and every success became a reward worth remembering.

I would also like to express my deepest gratitude to The Weekly Channel, our school publication, for giving me the opportunity to serve as a news writer. It was through this experience that I discovered my voice and developed my passion for writing and responsible journalism.

Some of the most unforgettable moments of my high school life came from joining DSPC and RSPC. The preparation, the pressure, the excitement, and the honor of representing our school will always be close to my heart. Those experiences taught me confidence, courage, and the importance of doing my best, no matter the outcome.

To our publication adviser, Dionita D. Morata, thank you for your patience, guidance, and unwavering support. You inspired us to write with purpose and to always stand for truth and excellence.

To our school principal, Joan L. Sayson, thank you for your leadership, dedication, and commitment to our school community. Your guidance helped shape a safe and inspiring environment for all of us students to grow and succeed.

To all our teachers, thank you for your dedication and for believing in us. To my fellow students, thank you for the memories, laughter, and support that made this journey meaningful and unforgettable.

As we step into a new chapter of our lives, we carry with us everything that SCNHS has taught us. Though we have already left its halls, its impact will remain in us forever.
Thank you, SCNHS, for everything.

This is not a goodbye, but a proud farewell and a hopeful see you again.
