| 𝗟𝗦𝗣𝗨 𝗰𝗼-𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝟮𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗡 𝗖𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗮 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁

To strengthen the institution’s commitment to regional agricultural research, innovation, and technology development, the Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU), alongside Isabela State University (ISU), co-sponsored the 25th ASEAN Cocoa Club Meeting held at View Park Hotel, Tagaytay City, Sep. 8-11.

The event was hosted by De La Salle University–Laguna (DLSU-Laguna) and the Department of Science and Technology–Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD).

The four-day international summit brought together researchers, government representatives, cacao farmers, processors, industry stakeholders, and other agricultural experts from ASEAN member states.

| 𝗟𝗦𝗣𝗨 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗡 𝗖𝘂𝗽 ‘𝟮𝟲

Four (4) students from the College of Computer Studies (CCS) of Laguna State Polytechnic University-Siniloan Campus (LSPU-SC) won the TRON CUP 2026 Cyber Defense Exercise held virtually, Sep 12–13.

The event was organized by Cyber Battalion Philippines, a specialized unit operating under the Army Signal Regiment of the Philippine Army, dedicated to secure military networks and national security in the digital domain.

The contest is a cybersecurity tournament designed for higher education students participated by 13 different teams across the country. The competition included various cybersecurity challenges such as Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), PCAP/Network Analysis, Security Onion, and Incident Reporting.

During the competition, each team was tasked to solve problems and investigate clues to locate and capture the flags hidden across the provided websites.

Joed Michael Meraña, Joseph Benjamin Sollestre, Jan Menric Veleso, and Jerome Paulo Mira represented the university with direct supervision of Instructor Mark Reden S. Pacaon.

The activity was monitored by 1LT John Anthony B Guia (SC) PA – Brigade Signal Officer and SSg Josephus D Villanueva (SC) PA – Brigade Signal NCO from Headquarters 202nd Infantry (Unifier) Brigade, 2ID, PA alongside Cpl Isagani D Seño III (Inf) PA – IT Specialist 2nd Signal Battalion, Signal Regiment, PA

| 𝗟𝗦𝗣𝗨, 𝗗𝗢𝗦𝗧 𝗜𝗩𝗔 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴

Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU) hosted a three-day intensive program on food safety under the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) CALABARZON at the Community Outreach Center (COC) Function Hall, Sep. 1-3.

The seminar was designed to equip academic trainers with standardized modules from the DOST Unified Food Safety Training curriculum. It also aimed to establish consistent food-handling standards aligned with the syllabus to better serve the local communities.

The training featured technical sessions led by expert speakers such as Ms. Maria Teresa A. Pamplona for Food Hazards, Ms. Amiel L. Alcala for Basic Food Hygiene, and Ms. Niña Sherylle S. Giron for Current Good Manufacturing Practices modules.

The event is a part of the flagship extension project of the College of Food Nutrition and Dietetics (CFND) titled SAFE Food: Sanitary and Appropriate Food-handling from the Experts in Food” which was launched in 2025.

This activity aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger and 3: Good Health and Well-Being.
