Don Serafin L. Golez Memorial Integrated School proudly marked the beginning of the School Year 2026–2027 with the successful conduct of the First Flag Ceremony and the First Day of School on June 8, 2026.

As prescribed under the DepEd Three-Term School Calendar, June 8–11, 2026 will be dedicated to the Opening Block Activities, which include learner orientation, class organization, classroom routines, school policies, diagnostic and readiness activities, and other opening-of-school engagements prior to the start of regular classes. Regular instructional classes will commence on June 15, 2026.

The Department of Education's Oplan Balik Eskwela is a nationwide initiative that aims to ensure a safe, orderly, accessible, and learner-centered opening of classes. Through the collaborative efforts of DepEd, local government units, partner agencies, community stakeholders, and volunteers, OBE seeks to address enrollment concerns, school readiness, learner welfare, transportation, safety, health services, and other school opening-related concerns.
