In his homily, Fr. Dingh reminded everyone to “Manindigan kayo kay Jesus,” “Kilalanin si Jesus sa puso,” and “Si Kristo ang kilalanin bilang nagmamaniobra ng ating buhay.”

May we continue to stand firm in our faith and allow Christ to guide our lives.

Today, we honor St. Rose of Lima—the first canonized saint of the Americas and the beloved Secondary Patroness of the Philippines.

Born Isabel Flores de Oliva in 1586, she chose a life of prayer, sacrifice, and charity, transforming her home into a place of mercy where she cared for the sick, the poor, and the forgotten. Through humble work and unwavering faith, she showed that true holiness blossoms through loving service to God and neighbor.

In 1670, Pope Clement X proclaimed St. Rose the Secondary Patroness of the Philippines through the Papal Bull Sacrosancti Apostolatus Cura. Her witness continues to inspire Filipino Catholics to live lives rooted in prayer, humility, and compassion.

A Prayer to St. Rose of Lima

Heavenly Father, through the intercession of St. Rose of Lima, grant us hearts devoted to prayer and hands ready to serve. Help us recognize Christ in those who suffer and faithfully live out Your love each day. Amen.

St. Rose of Lima, pray for us!

Today, on the Twenty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time, we reflect on the Gospel through the words of Mr. Euriel H. Villanueva, JHS Mission Team Leader of St. Jude Parish School, Inc.

In today's Gospel, Jesus asks a question that reaches beyond His disciples and into every human heart: "Who do you say that I am?" It is a deeply personal question, inviting each of us to move beyond what others think and discover our own relationship with Him.

Peter boldly declares, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God." Jesus affirms that this faith is not merely the result of human understanding but a gift from the Father. Peter's confession becomes the foundation upon which Christ promises to build His Church. This reminds us that the Church is not built on human perfection but on faith in Jesus Christ. Peter himself had weaknesses and failures, yet God still chose him to lead. In the same way, God continues to call imperfect people to accomplish His perfect plan.

This Gospel also challenges us to examine the foundation of our own lives. In a world filled with uncertainty, changing values, and countless voices competing for our attention, Jesus remains the solid rock on whom we can place our trust. When our faith is rooted in Him, we find the strength to persevere through trials, make wise decisions, and live with hope.

Ultimately, Jesus' question is not one that can be answered only with words. Our response is reflected in the choices we make, the compassion we show, the forgiveness we extend, and the faithfulness with which we live each day. To profess that Jesus is the Messiah is to allow Him to shape our hearts, guide our lives, and become the center of everything we do.

Today, we joyfully celebrate the Feast of the Queenship of Mary!

Having followed Christ unreservedly on earth, the Blessed Virgin Mary now reigns alongside her Son in heaven. She stands as a radiant beacon of truth and love—a light that shatters the darkness of sin, brings warmth, and shines with celestial beauty. Solemnly crowned by Christ and welcomed by the court of Heaven, Mary holds a unique and powerful role in the Savior's work of Redemption.

Through her Queenship, may we come to recognize and venerate more deeply the merciful, motherly care of the one who bore our Lord.

As we honor our Heavenly Queen today, let us pray together:

Let us, as children of the Church, renew our devotion to the one whom Jesus bequeathed to us as Mother and Queen. Let us entrust to her intercession our daily prayer for peace, especially where the senseless logic of violence rages most fiercely. May all people realize that we are called to support one another as brothers and sisters to build the civilization of love. Maria, Regina Pacis, ora pro nobis!
