📣 CLASS SUSPENSION ADVISORY

Walang pasok sa lahat ng antas (public at private) sa buong lalawigan ng Cavite mula October 15 hanggang October 18, 2025, upang bigyang-daan ang Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) surveillance at ang paghahanda para sa “The Big One,” o malakas na lindol na posibleng maranasan sa hinaharap.

Sa panahon ng suspensyon ng face-to-face classes, ipatutupad ang Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) gaya ng online classes at modular learning upang matiyak ang tuloy-tuloy na pagkatuto ng mga mag-aaral.

Ang hakbang na ito ay isang proactive effort upang mapangalagaan ang kalusugan at kaligtasan ng bawat Caviteño.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗞𝗶𝗱𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗸𝗲

Preparing children for an earthquake means teaching safety through calm guidance, practice, and reassurance. Here’s how to make sure they’re ready and confident when the ground starts to shake:

🧠 1. Explain What an Earthquake Is

Use child-friendly words: “An earthquake is when the ground shakes because of movement deep underground.”

Show simple videos or pictures to help them understand what happens.

Emphasize that being prepared helps everyone stay safe.

🧍‍♀️ 2. Practice “Drop, Cover, and Hold On”

Teach these three key actions:

DROP to the ground before you lose balance.

COVER your head and neck under sturdy furniture.

HOLD ON until the shaking stops.

💡Make it fun by turning it into a mini-drill or family game.

🏠 3. Identify Safe and Unsafe Spots

Walk around your home or school to find safe places (under strong tables, away from windows or heavy objects).

Point out danger zones (glass windows, tall furniture, big appliances, shelves, hanging frames).

💡Let kids help label “safe spots” so they remember.

🗺️ 4. Create and Practice an Evacuation Plan

Teach where and how to safely exit your home or school after the shaking stops.

Choose a safe meeting place outside (e.g., a safe familiar spot, neighbor’s yard, or open space).

Practice walking there calmly and quickly.

Assign roles — for example, older kids can help guide younger siblings.

Let them help pack their own small emergency kit:

Snacks and bottled water

Flashlight or glow stick

📱 7. Teach Communication Basics

Show older kids how to text or call for help safely.

Children mirror adult reactions. Stay calm and reassuring during drills and actual quakes.

Parents, your children are watching—even when you think they’re not.

Every action you take, every word you speak, every choice you make—it all leaves a mark on them.

Want them to be honest? Show honesty, even when it’s hard.
Want them to be kind? Show kindness, even to people who don’t deserve it.
Want them to respect others? Show respect, even when it’s easier to be rude.

Your life is their first classroom.
Your habits are their first rules.
Your character is the foundation on which they will build their own.

Here’s the truth: lectures don’t last. Punishments fade. Rewards are temporary. But the example you live stays with them forever.

So instead of only telling them what’s right, be the person you want them to become.
Show them what courage looks like. Show them what integrity looks like. Show them what love and responsibility look like in action.

Because at the end of the day, your children will not just remember what you said.
They will remember how you lived.
Be the example. Be the parent your children can’t help but admire, respect, and follow.
