If parents insult, humiliate, or accuse you without basis, the following cases are usually applicable in the Philippines:
1. Unjust Vexation (Article 287, Revised Penal Code)
You may file this if:
• The parent harassed, embarrassed, or annoyed you in public or online.
• They confronted you in a rude or humiliating way.
This applies even if there is no physical harm.
2. Slander or Slander by Deed (Defamation)
If the parents verbally insulted you or made false accusations in front of others, you can file:
Slander (Oral Defamation)
If they:
• Insulted you verbally
• Called you degrading names
• Accused you of wrongdoing without proof

If they:
• Did something to humiliate you publicly (e.g., pointing, shouting, causing a scene)
3. Libel (if it was posted online)
If the shaming happened on:
• Facebook
• Messenger
• Group chat
• Public posts
This can be considered cyber libel, which has heavier penalties.
4. Grave Threats or Grave Coercion
If the parent:
• Threatened you
• Forced you to do something through intimidation
