CapSU Sigma Future Leaders of the Philippines joins the FSSC and FFLP Leadership Training
βLeadership is all about the continuous growth and learningβ
CapSU Sigma outgoing FLP president Ms. Maylyn Armiza and incoming FLP President Dyesebel Esteban together with their supportive adviser Sir Dhareen Laguing participated on the three-day Leadership Training with the theme βOne Capsu: Uniting Leaders, Igniting purposeβ held at San Antonio Resort last May 29-31, 2024.
The training aimed to enhance leadership skills, foster collaboration, and inspires the excellence of the diverse student leaders from the different CapSU colleges and satellites
Dr. John Ralph Fayo kicked off the opening of the training program; this was followed by the formal introduction of the resource speaker Ms. Kristine Sauler who started her discussion with energizing ice-breaker activities that created a positive and engaging atmosphere. Ms. Sauler shared her expertise about being an effective leader. On the second plenary session Atty. Ann Margaret Dy was represented by her secretary who discusses the ways on how to manage stress and how to balance the academics and leadership as a student leader. On the third Session Atty. Toche talks about the proper ways on how to write a resolution and business letter; student leaders were introduced to various leadership styles and qualities through his workshop. Emphasis was placed on communication skills and conflict resolution, setting the stage for effective leadership development.
Second day delved deeper into strategic leadership as student leaders prepared their presentations and yells for their team building activity. They have explored decision-making processes and critical thinking through stimulating the different games and activities. They honed their ability to navigate complex leadership challenges, developed camaraderie and build friendship. Simulation exercises tested their leadership mettle, pushing them to apply theoretical knowledge in practical scenarios. After which is the socialization night which showcased the glitz and glamour of all the student leaders with their respective advisers. The night was full of fun and enjoyment.
The final day focused on the election and induction of the new set of Federation of the Future Leaders of the Philippines officers which was effectively done under the supervision and power of authority of our university president Dr. Editha Alfon. Ms. Dyesebel Esteban was elected and formally inducted as the new Vice President of the FFLP. Furthermore, the FFLP and FSSC president delivered their key take aways on the feedback sessions.
The training program was formally closed by our esteemed SAS chairperson Dr. Rey Peralta through his closing words.
Overall, this 3-day leadership training was a resounding success, equipping participants with the tools and mindset needed to excel in their leadership roles. The training left a profound impact on the participants, transforming their mindset and approach to leadership. Participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn from the expertise of the resource speakers and facilitators.
