Lagi mong Tandaan! BABAE KA, HINDI BABAE LANG!
Hands with machetes fighting for freedom in a saya, arms lifting not only weights but the pride of the country, and crowns worn and walked by Filipinas conquering not only the Philippines but the whole universe.
It was already sown in the red, blue, and white fabrics of history how our women carried societyโnot only as the โ๐ช๐ญ๐ข๐ธ ๐ฏ๐จ ๐ต๐ข๐ฉ๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐ฏโ but also proving to be the โ๐ข๐ณ๐ข๐ธ ๐ฏ๐จ ๐ญ๐ช๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฏ๐ข๐ฏ.โ They are our towers of strength, pillars of hope, and our champions of purpose.
But even so, our women were always painted with the word โ๐น๐ฎ๐ป๐ด.โ A word used to underestimate, to undermine, and to underappreciate. They were stereotyped as being bound only to certain roles, and even with the steps taken to bridge the gap, they were still โimaginedโ as something less than what they truly are.
But to every woman out there, to the little girl being picked on, to the teenager doubting herself in the mirror, to those tired of working every day yet still hearing words no woman deserves to hearโ๐ฝ๐ผ๐ฝ๐ผ๐ ๐๐ผ, ๐๐๐๐ฟ๐ ๐ฝ๐ผ๐ฝ๐ผ๐ ๐๐ผ๐๐!
And if ever you acknowledge that โlang,โ I hope it would be a:
Just like our Babaylans, who heal, lead, and fight at the same time, Student-Leaders, let us seek to foster a space where our women can do the same.
And to the woman reading this right now,
