Today, March 18, marks the 81st anniversary of Panay's liberation, a day that goes beneath Philippine history. We commemorate the incredible bravery along with significant sacrifices made by our heroes who, in the shadow of war, kindled the flames of resistance and tenaciously battled for our independence. The liberation of Panay, a ray of hope and evidence of the Filipino people's persistent yearning for freedom, was made possible by their courageous acts and unflinching spirit. Let's pay tribute to their legacy by valuing the freedom and peace they won and working to create a country worthy of what they gave up.

Lagi mong Tandaan! BABAE KA, HINDI BABAE LANG! 💜

𝘽𝘼𝘽𝘼𝙀 𝙆𝘼, 𝙃𝙄𝙉𝘿𝙄 𝘽𝘼𝘽𝘼𝙀 𝙇𝘼𝙉𝙂! 🌷🎤

Hands with machetes fighting for freedom in a saya, arms lifting not only weights but the pride of the country, and crowns worn and walked by Filipinas conquering not only the Philippines but the whole universe.

It was already sown in the red, blue, and white fabrics of history how our women carried society—not only as the “𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘸 𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘢𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘯” but also proving to be the “𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘸 𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘶𝘯𝘢𝘯.” They are our towers of strength, pillars of hope, and our champions of purpose. 🏺🏛️

But even so, our women were always painted with the word “𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴.” A word used to underestimate, to undermine, and to underappreciate. They were stereotyped as being bound only to certain roles, and even with the steps taken to bridge the gap, they were still “imagined” as something less than what they truly are.

But to every woman out there, to the little girl being picked on, to the teenager doubting herself in the mirror, to those tired of working every day yet still hearing words no woman deserves to hear—𝘽𝘼𝘽𝘼𝙀 𝙆𝘼, 𝙃𝙄𝙉𝘿𝙄 𝘽𝘼𝘽𝘼𝙀 𝙇𝘼𝙉𝙂! 🪞🪩

And if ever you acknowledge that “lang,” I hope it would be a:
𝗕𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗲𝗻𝗴 ’𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗸𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻

We honor the diverse contributions of women across generations, whose work has built the foundation of progress we stand on today.

Throughout history, women have fought relentlessly for equality, justice, and the right to pursue their dreams without limitation. Their advocacy has opened doors for education, career opportunities, and basic human rights that benefit not just women, but entire societies. Even as we recognize how far we’ve come, we acknowledge the journey ahead to ensure every woman – regardless of her background, location, or circumstances – is seen, heard, and given the same chance to succeed.

Today marks the 40th anniversary of the People's Power Revolution, a monumental event in Philippine history that saw the collective strength and unwavering courage of the Filipino people.

From February 22 to 25, 1986, millions gathered peacefully on EDSA, united by a common desire for freedom and democracy, ultimately ending a long period of authoritarian rule.

This revolution was a testament to the fact that change is possible when a people stand together. We look back with immense appreciation for the ordinary citizens, religious leaders, and military reformists who risked everything for the ideals of justice and liberty.

Their legacy continues to inspire us to safeguard our democratic values and work towards a nation where every voice is heard.
