The UA-LHS Student Council participated in the 3rd Quarterly Meeting of the Provincial Youth Development Council (PYDC) on September 25, 2026, at the Binirayan Sports Complex Conference Room. The council was represented by its Governor Andrew B. Moscoso, Vice Governor Renelyn B. Borja, and Secretary Kryzha Mae A. Moncay.
The meeting brought together provincial officials, youth representatives, and various youth-serving organizations to discuss concerns, programs, and initiatives related to young people in the province. Among the organizations that attended were ULIKID PH, the Diocesan Commission on Youth, and other youth organizations and representatives. The gathering provided an opportunity for the different organizations to share updates, exchange ideas, and explore possible collaborations for youth development.
Among the initiatives discussed were Project Pag-Pag: Pagrigos, Paghugas kag Pagtoothbrush, which promotes proper hygiene and personal care, and Project Aram-Literacy Program, which focuses on supporting literacy among young people and other matters. The Provincial Youth Development Office (PYDO) also invited UA-LHS to participate in these activities and encouraged continued collaboration with the school.
โSince the start of our classes, weโve already done a few meaningful activities as an organization. We joined the NYD together with the PYDO in Passi, conducted a feeding program during Nutrition Month, and also participated in a tree-planting activity. For the coming months, weโre hoping to do more activities like tree planting, coastal clean-up drives, outreach programs, and other community activities. Weโre also looking forward to having more collaborations with the PYDC and continuing to serve the youth,โ Governor Moscoso shared.
The council's Governor, Vice Governor, and Secretary joined the meeting to represent the voices and interests of UA-LHS students. Their participation highlighted the importance of student involvement in youth-related programs and decisions, while also providing the representatives with an opportunity to take part in discussions beyond the school community.
โThe discussion will greatly benefit the youth of Antique by providing them with valuable insights and opportunities for growth. We also shared our accomplishments for the past month, and they expressed interest in collaborating with us on our upcoming activities. The PYDC also emphasized its commitment to support our initiatives and help us to successfully implement future programs,โ Vice Governor Borja added.
The meeting also allowed the representatives to listen to updates and exchange ideas with other participants from different youth organizations. Through these discussions, they gained a broader understanding of the programs and concerns being addressed by the Provincial Youth Development Council, as well as the different opportunities available for youth participation and community involvement.
By attending the quarterly meeting, the UA-LHS Student Council demonstrated its commitment to engaging with community leaders and fellow youth representatives. The experience further encouraged active student participation in matters that affect young people and opened opportunities for the council to contribute to programs such as Project Pag-Pag and Project Aram in partnership with the PYDO, PYDC, and other youth organizations.
