Cornelio Balmaceda Foundation Brings Feeding Program and Hygiene Kits to Sarrat North Central School

SARRAT, ILOCOS NORTE — A day of nourishment, generosity, and care unfolded at Sarrat North Central School on September 18, 2026, as the Cornelio Balmaceda Foundation (CBF) conducted a feeding program for our learners.

The activity provided nutritious meals to the children, emphasizing the importance of proper nutrition in supporting their health, growth, and readiness to learn.

But the generosity did not stop there.

As part of the outreach, the Cornelio Balmaceda Foundation also distributed bags containing hygiene kits to the learners. These thoughtful packages serve as a reminder that caring for children goes beyond providing food. It also means helping them develop healthy hygiene practices and ensuring that they have access to basic personal-care essentials.

More than the meals and gifts, the activity brought a message of compassion, kindness, and community support. It showed our learners that there are people and organizations willing to extend a helping hand and invest in their well-being and future.

The Sarrat North Central School community extends its deepest gratitude to the Cornelio Balmaceda Foundation for their generosity and for sharing their time and resources with our learners. Your kindness has brought smiles to our children’s faces and made this day truly special.

Thank you, Cornelio Balmaceda Foundation, for helping us create a healthier, happier, and more caring community for our learners.

What makes these accomplishments even more impressive is that our learners had only a very short time to prepare for their respective competitions. Congratulations, Science Champions! You’ve made us all incredibly proud!

Sarrat North Central School Successfully Conducts Provincewide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

SARRAT, ILOCOS NORTE – In full compliance with Executive Order No. CAM-074-26, Series of 2026, issued by Governor Cecilia Araneta Marcos, Sarrat North Central School actively participated in the Provincewide Schools Simultaneous Earthquake Drill held on July 30, 2026.

The activity brought together learners, teachers, school personnel, and stakeholders in practicing proper earthquake preparedness and emergency response procedures. Guided by the Comprehensive School Safety Framework (CSSF) and the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act, participants demonstrated the standard “Duck, Cover, and Hold" technique, followed by an orderly evacuation to designated safe assembly areas.

The drill aimed to strengthen disaster preparedness, improve emergency response capabilities, and cultivate a culture of safety and resilience within the school community. School officials emphasized that regular earthquake drills help ensure that everyone is equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively during actual emergencies.

Sarrat North Central School remains committed to supporting the initiatives of the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte and the Department of Education in promoting disaster risk reduction and creating a safe, secure, and resilient learning environment for all.

Before the ringing of the first school bell and the cheerful return of learners, classrooms stood quietly, waiting to be filled once again with dreams, discoveries, and endless possibilities. Behind the scenes, however, a dedicated group of educators and school personnel worked tirelessly to ensure that every corner of the school would be ready to welcome its learners.

During Brigada Eskwela, the teaching and non-teaching staff rolled up their sleeves and transformed ordinary classrooms into vibrant learning havens. Armed with brooms, paintbrushes, cleaning materials, and an unwavering commitment to education, they devoted their time and energy to creating spaces where learners can feel safe, inspired, and motivated.

Beyond the classrooms, school personnel worked hand in hand in cleaning the school grounds, beautifying gardens, and improving the overall environment. Every sweep of the broom, every stroke of paint, and every act of service reflected a shared goal—to provide learners with a school they can proudly call their second home.

As the school year draws near, these transformed classrooms stand as silent witnesses to the hard work, teamwork, and love poured into them. Ready and waiting, they will soon echo with laughter, learning, and the bright future of every child they serve.
