PILI NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL LEADERS' CAMP
SCOUT•LEARN•LEAD•HAVE FUN

What: Leaders' Camp for YES-O, RCYC, YECS, BKD, SSLG, and BSP
Where: Pili National High School
When: December 13-14, 2024

The ASIS-PNHS Boys Scouts of the Philippines successfully hosted a Leaders' Camp for various student organizations of Pili National High School, including YES-O, RCYC, YECS, BKD, SSLG, and BSP. This two-day event aimed to foster leadership, collaboration, and environmental stewardship among the youth.
The camp began with an inspiring youth forum led by guest speaker Ms. Catherine Palad, who spoke on the theme "SPEAR" (Subject/Topic, Problems, Existing Projects, Agency Involved, and Resolutions). She encouraged the students to identify challenges within their organizations and brainstorm actionable solutions to achieve their goals. During this session, each organization's president was given the opportunity to present the issues they wished to address, which sparked meaningful discussions and collaborative problem-solving among the participants.

The evening concluded with one of the most exciting highlights of the night camp: a campfire session. Each organization showcased their creativity through engaging skits, providing a platform for teamwork and camaraderie. The campfire ended with a solemn prayer, after which the student leaders went back to their respective classrooms.
Day 2 began with the members of each organization coming together to prepare breakfast, an activity that emphasized cooperation and shared responsibility. Afterward, the participants were divided into groups for a campus-wide clean-up drive, where they collected plastic waste. This initiative not only demonstrated their commitment to environmental sustainability but also instilled a sense of collective responsibility.

Following the clean-up drive, the students eagerly participated in team-building activities, which mixed members from different organizations to promote unity and leadership skills in a fun and interactive setting. These activities became one of the features for the day, fostering bonds while reinforcing the values of effective leadership.

Another highlight of Day 2 was the Brotherhood Lunch, where each organization prepared their special dish featuring sardines. The groups came together for a traditional boodle fight, enjoying the food they prepared on banana leaves. This shared meal fostered unity and strengthened bonds among the student leaders, reinforcing the spirit of camaraderie and teamwork.
Following a short break, the students eagerly participated in team-building activities, which mixed members from different organizations to promote unity and leadership skills in a fun and interactive setting.

Later in the day, the student leaders resumed their presentations of resolutions. The YES-O organization proposed improvements to the school’s Zero Waste Management program, which was met with enthusiasm and approval from Ms. Catherine Palad. The inclusion of actionable resolutions underscored the camp's focus on equipping leaders with practical tools to make a difference.
The program also had the honor of welcoming SK Chairperson Ms. Bella Bagting, who expressed her gratitude to the organizers and participants for creating such a meaningful initiative for the youth. Her presence further emphasized the importance of empowering young leaders to contribute positively to their communities.
The camp concluded with an awards ceremony, where each participant received a certificate of recognition for their active involvement. This moment celebrated the collective achievements of the student leaders and left everyone feeling inspired and appreciated.
This Leaders' Camp was more than just an opportunity to spend a night away from home. It was a transformative experience that instilled responsibility, teamwork, and leadership in all the participants. The program highlighted that leadership is not about holding a position but about building meaningful relationships, taking action, and creating a lasting impact on the environment and the community.
THANK YOU for this unforgettable and enriching experience!
