Promoting Inclusive Support Systems and Health Awareness: Two-Day GAD Training-Workshop

Concepcion Ibaba Elementary School | September 11, 2026

Under the leadership of Principal III, ma'am Vilma Quedilig, dedicated educators and staff gathered at Casa De Guztala in Candelaria, Quezon, where Concepcion Ibaba ES successfully held its two-day Gender and Development (GAD) program from September 10 to 11, 2026. The training aimed to deepen the school community's understanding of gender-responsive health education while building stronger, more protective environments for all learners.

Day 1
The program opened with inspirational words from PSDS Ma. Lourdes C. Cabanag before moving into a thorough afternoon session led by Dr. Marvin A. De Alday. Participants took an active dive into critical issues, focusing on HIV/AIDS awareness, adolescent reproductive health, and teenage pregnancy prevention. The group also examined key DepEd policies to find practical ways to integrate health education and positive decision-making into their everyday teaching.

Day 2
Following a morning review led by HT-I Babeth D. Gomez, Dr. De Alday guided teachers through an interactive workshop centered on child protection and preventing gender-based violence. Educators spent the morning analyzing real-world issues like bullying and harassment, reviewing referral pathways, and collaborating to build concrete action plans that ensure their classrooms remain safe and welcoming for every student.

The training wrapped up with the distribution of certificates by Dr. Arnel E. Tinamisan and closing words from Principal I Joel P. De Roxas. The two-day event left the faculty and staff of Concepcion Ibaba Elementary School well-equipped, energized, and ready to put their new gender-responsive strategies into practice.
