𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗴 𝗡𝗛𝗦 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗶𝗱 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁

In response to the psychological needs of personnel following an alleged reported security threat involving the school community, the Schools Division Office of Sarangani, through the School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD)–School Health and Nutrition Section (SHNS), conducted a Psychological First Aid (PFA) activity for the teaching and non-teaching personnel of Malandag National High School on August 24, 2026, at the school gymnasium.

The activity aimed to provide personnel with a safe and supportive space to process their feelings, manage stress, and strengthen positive coping mechanisms amid the reported security concern. The PFA was facilitated by trained DepEd personnel from various districts, namely Suzette Suficiencia, RN; Genevieve Erigbuagas, RN; Arnold Pagaduan, RN; Victor Rey Gella, RN; Oxideza Catada, RGC; May Vour Neen Marayan, PDO; and Fritz Dew Alconera, PDO.

Through guided activities and discussions, personnel were encouraged to express their thoughts and emotions, connect with one another, and recognize healthy ways of coping with stressful circumstances. The facilitators emphasized the importance of seeking support and caring for one’s emotional well-being, especially during challenging situations.

The conduct of the PFA exhibits the commitment of the Schools Division Office of Sarangani and Malandag National High School to address not only the safety but also the psychological well-being of its personnel. Amid the reported concern, the school community continues to cultivate an environment anchored on safety and collective support for both personnel and learners.

𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗴 𝗡𝗛𝗦 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Three learners from Malandag National High School have brought pride to the school after being chosen to serve as Malungon Junior Officials 2026, giving them an opportunity to experience leadership, public service, and local governance at a young age.

Among those selected are Hon. Ariana Nicole B. Diamalo, who will serve as Municipal Junior Mayor, counterpart of Hon. Reynaldo F. Constantino; Hon. Zian Kyrene Donasco, Municipal Junior Councilor, counterpart of Hon. Jerico A. Tanduyan, SK Federation President; and Ms. Althea Cabaguing, Junior Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer.

From August 24–28, 2026, the three young leaders will serve as junior counterparts to their respective local government officials as part of the Linggo ng Kabataan Malngan 2026, an initiative led by the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Malungon, in partnership with the Local Youth Development Council and Local Youth Development Office.

Through this meaningful experience, they are given the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of public service, leadership, responsibility, and governance allowing them to see how young people can actively participate in and contribute to building a better community.

𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗴 𝗡𝗛𝗦 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗺𝗶𝗱 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁

In response to an alleged security threat circulating online, Malandag National High School immediately strengthened its safety and security measures through a coordinated effort with the Schools Division Office of Sarangani, Malungon Municipal Police Station (MPS), Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU), Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT), and School Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA).

Today, August 24, 2026, the school welcomed personnel from the Schools Division Office of Sarangani, led by Ma’am Maria Shirley Cardinal, SGOD Chief, and Malungon MPS under the leadership of Chief of Police PLTCOL JOVENSON B. BAYONA, for a Cybercrime Awareness Campaign focused on digital safety, responsible internet use, and awareness of the possible legal consequences of online threats, misinformation, and other cyber-related activities.

The initiative was further strengthened by the presence of the BLGU through Barangay Captain Helen Aradanas, who shared a message of support and assurance to the school community. Members of the BPAT and SPTA also joined the engagement, expressing the shared commitment of the school and its community partners to ensuring the safety and well-being of learners and personnel.

The awareness session was facilitated by PSSg Jaymark Pantalita, PCpl Creazar Jay Garde, and Patrolwoman Jemaima Pangilan of the Malungon MPS. They discussed cybercrime prevention, fake news awareness, responsible social media use, and the possible consequences of creating, sharing, or spreading unverified information and online threats.

The police team emphasized the importance of verifying information from credible sources, thinking before sharing online content, and practicing responsible digital citizenship. The personal visit of PLTCOL JOVENSON B. BAYONA and his team, the presence of the Division Office personnel, BLGU, BPAT, and SPTA, underscored the strong collaboration among stakeholders in responding to concerns that may affect the safety and security of the school community.

Through this collective and proactive response, Malandag National High School reaffirms its commitment to maintaining a safe, secure, and informed learning environment. The school expresses its sincere appreciation to Ma’am Ma. Shirley Cardinal, SGOD Chief; the Schools Division Office of Sarangani; PLTCOL Jovenson B. Bayona and the Malungon MPS team; Barangay Captain Helen Aradanas and the BLGU; the BPAT; and the SPTA for their immediate support, guidance, and active participation in strengthening the school community’s culture of safety and vigilance.

Malandag National High School hereby informs all learners, parents, teaching and non-teaching personnel that face-to-face classes shall resume tomorrow, August 25, 2026 (Tuesday), following the recent temporary suspension prompted by the alleged reported security threat circulated online.

The resumption comes after careful deliberation, consultation, and coordination with the concerned authorities, particularly the Philippine National Police, regarding the safety and security of the school community. The school shall continue to closely monitor the situation and maintain coordination with the authorities.

All learners and personnel are reminded to remain vigilant, calm, and responsible, and to immediately report any suspicious activity or information to the proper school authorities. Everyone is likewise encouraged to refrain from sharing unverified information that may cause unnecessary fear or panic.

We sincerely thank our learners, parents, personnel, the Schools Division Office of Sarangani, the Malungon Municipal Police Station, the Barangay Local Government Unit, BPAT, SPTA Officials, and all concerned stakeholders for their cooperation, understanding, and support throughout this situation.
