In response to an alleged security threat circulating online, Malandag National High School immediately strengthened its safety and security measures through a coordinated effort with the Schools Division Office of Sarangani, Malungon Municipal Police Station (MPS), Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU), Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT), and School Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA).
Today, August 24, 2026, the school welcomed personnel from the Schools Division Office of Sarangani, led by Maโam Maria Shirley Cardinal, SGOD Chief, and Malungon MPS under the leadership of Chief of Police PLTCOL JOVENSON B. BAYONA, for a Cybercrime Awareness Campaign focused on digital safety, responsible internet use, and awareness of the possible legal consequences of online threats, misinformation, and other cyber-related activities.
The initiative was further strengthened by the presence of the BLGU through Barangay Captain Helen Aradanas, who shared a message of support and assurance to the school community. Members of the BPAT and SPTA also joined the engagement, expressing the shared commitment of the school and its community partners to ensuring the safety and well-being of learners and personnel.
The awareness session was facilitated by PSSg Jaymark Pantalita, PCpl Creazar Jay Garde, and Patrolwoman Jemaima Pangilan of the Malungon MPS. They discussed cybercrime prevention, fake news awareness, responsible social media use, and the possible consequences of creating, sharing, or spreading unverified information and online threats.
The police team emphasized the importance of verifying information from credible sources, thinking before sharing online content, and practicing responsible digital citizenship. The personal visit of PLTCOL JOVENSON B. BAYONA and his team, the presence of the Division Office personnel, BLGU, BPAT, and SPTA, underscored the strong collaboration among stakeholders in responding to concerns that may affect the safety and security of the school community.
Through this collective and proactive response, Malandag National High School reaffirms its commitment to maintaining a safe, secure, and informed learning environment.
