Cultivating compassion and service, the Supreme Student Council (SSC) of Northern Iloilo State University Main Campus formally turned over collected donations to fire-affected students through the NISUnian Fire Emergency Assistance Mechanism (N-FEAM) at the NISU Victorino Salcedo Sara Campus on May 7, 2026.
Established under Resolution No. 007, series of 2026, adopted and approved on March 26, the initiative serves as a framework for providing immediate and transparent assistance to students affected by fire incidents through authorized donation drives.
The turnover of goods, clothes, and cash donations was led by the SSC Main Campus together with Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) Director Dr. Jeff George Delima III and was received by Dr. Renette A. Valderrama, OSAS Campus Director and Mr. Jhon Emmanuel A. Isidoro, SSC President of NISU VSSC.
A total of 17 NISU students were reported affected by the fire incident that struck Barangay Anoring, Sara, Iloilo, on April 28.
In an interview, SSC President John Mark Ormides said the university continues to uphold compassion and service for students and families facing crises.
โAs members of the academic community, Northern Iloilo State University Main Campus has always remained a cradle of hope, compassion, and development. Through meaningful initiatives and genuine service, we were able to extend assistance to our students and families affected by the recent fire incident," Mr. Ormides said.
