Kent I. Peromingan from Marsman Elementary School won in Gawad Teodora Awards held at Citystate Asturias Hotel, Puerto Princesa City. The outstanding artist earned a recognition as a National Qualifier.
In Category 1, Sir Kent collaborated with writer Neil Edward D. Diaz to create the storybook entitled "Ang Kuya Kong One-Half." The story centers on acceptance and resilience and was chosen as a Read-ex Pick, his illustrations brought the life of a kuya (older brother) who, despite having a disability, uses his creativity to shine and inspire others.
For Category 3, Sir Kent also showcased his talent by writing and illustrating a wordless storybook entirely on his own. His great work, also selected as a Read-ex Pick. The wordless storybook, earning 3rd Place in the Reader's Choice Awards, a testament to sir Kentโs storytelling competence and artistic insight.
The Gawad Teodora Awards celebrate excellence in the world of literature, encouraging young creators to share meaningful stories. Sir Kentโs achievements highlight his passion and dedication to the masterpiece, bringing pride to Marsman Elementary School and inspiring his collegues and students.
As a National Qualifier in two categories, Sir Kent has proven his potential as a future leader and a role model in Philippine children's literature and art.
