YES-O BasuResiklo Program | Round 1
The first round of the BasuResiklo Program was held on February 10, 2026, at Sto. Tomas National High School and was led by the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO). Five Eco-Warriors, selected from different school departments, took part in the activity.
Before the actual program, the participants underwent preparation by practicing the proper recycling of water bottles, which served as the main component of the activity. The bottles were thoroughly cleaned, pressed, and dried before being stored in sacks and trash bags. During the program proper, the collected bottles were brought to the gymnasium and weighed individually. The total accumulated weight was then computed and equally divided among the five participants.
In addition to the recycling activity, a symposium on climate change and waste management was conducted. The discussion highlighted the importance of Republic Act No. 9003 and explained how improper waste disposal contributes to climate change. The program ran from approximately 9:12 AM to 11:38 AM and concluded with a group photo featuring all participants.
The second round of the BasuResiklo Program is scheduled for March 10, 2026.
