Panay National High School conducted an orientation for parents on the implementation of the ARAL (Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning) Program โ€“ Reading Program, highlighting the important role of parents in supporting learnersโ€™ reading development.

The orientation provided parents with essential information about the programโ€™s objectives, procedures, and implementation, as well as the ways they can actively participate in their childrenโ€™s reading journey.

Through strengthened collaboration between the school and families, PNHS aims to provide learners with meaningful opportunities to improve their reading skills and address learning gaps.

Panay National High School formally opened the 2026 Intramurals through an opening program attended by students, athletes, and teachers.

The activity began with the rasing of team banners, followed by the opening ceremony and the presentation of the competing delegations.

The program featured Arnis performances, the oath of sportsmanship, and messages from school officials highlighting the values of discipline, teamwork, and respect.

The opening ceremony marked the start of the week-long sports competition where students will compete in various athletic and recreational events.

The Intramurals aims to promote physical fitness, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship while providing learners with opportunities to develop their skills beyond the classroom.

Ushering in a new chapter of student leadership, the newly elected officers of the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), led by President Jiecel A. Castor, together with the officers of the various school clubs and organizations of Panay National High School, formally took their oath of office.

The oath-taking ceremony marked the official assumption of office of the student leaders, signifying their readiness to serve with integrity, accountability, and dedication.

As part of its continuing commitment to campus safety, Panay National High School strengthened its security measures through a police visibility operation conducted by the South Cotabato Provincial Mobile Force Battalion, represented by Corporal Wilfredo Fuscablo Jr. and Corporal Jade Abelito.

The initiative reinforced peace and order within the school while promoting a safe and secure learning environment for all learners, teaching personnel, and stakeholders.

Complementing the effort, the schoolโ€™s watchman conducted routine bag inspections of students upon entry to ensure that safety protocols are strictly observed and prohibited items are prevented from entering the campus.

Panay National High School joined schools across the country in the simultaneous Flag Raising Ceremony held today to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the 2016 South China Sea Arbitral Award, in compliance with the unnumbered memorandum issued by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the call of the National Task Force for the West Philippine Sea.

The nationwide observance aims to raise public awareness of the significance of the landmark arbitral ruling while reaffirming the Philippine governmentโ€™s commitment to the rule of law, the peaceful resolution of disputes, and the protection of the countryโ€™s sovereign rights and national interests.

Through the simultaneous flag-raising ceremony, the initiative also seeks to deepen the knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of learners, teachers, and school personnel regarding the importance of the arbitral award and the role of every Filipino in promoting patriotism, unity, and respect for the rule of law.

Panay National High Schoolโ€™s participation reflects its continuing commitment to developing informed, responsible, and patriotic learners who value the countryโ€™s sovereignty and contribute to safeguarding the nationโ€™s future.

Panay National High School successfully conducted its General Assembly of the School Parents-Teachers Association (SPTA), bringing together parents, teachers, and stakeholders in a meaningful discussion of key school matters and initiatives.

Among the highlights of the assembly were the presentation of the schoolโ€™s Three-Term Academic Calendar, the SPTA Financial Report, the Induction of the newly elected SPTA Officers, the Recognition of individuals who rendered invaluable service during Brigada Eskwela, and the discussion of important School Policies aimed at promoting a safe, orderly, and learner-centered environment.

The activity was spearheaded by School Principal I, Sir Julius M. Friales, together with SPTA Chairperson Sir Elias M. Labro Jr., whose leadership continues to foster collaboration between the school and the community.

In the wake of the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck parts of Mindanao last week, Panay National High School, through its Guidance Office, conducted a Psychological First Aid session to support learners affected by the incident.

The activity aimed to help students process their experiences, address feelings of fear and anxiety, and strengthen their coping mechanisms as they gradually return to their normal routines.

Through guided discussions and psychosocial support activities, learners were given a safe space to express their thoughts and emotions while receiving practical strategies for managing stress and promoting emotional well-being.

The initiative highlights Panay National High Schoolโ€™s commitment to safeguarding the mental health of its learners, recognizing that recovery from disasters extends beyond physical safety and includes emotional healing and resilience-building.
