𝐒𝐭𝐨. 𝐍𝐢ñ𝐨 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐂𝐘 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐰𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥
Sto. Niño National High School under the leadership of Sir. Roger U. Buco, Principal III actively participated in the Calendar Year 2026 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) held on June 18, 2026, at 9:00 o’clock in the morning.
The activity brought together both Junior High School and Senior High School students, teachers, and personnel, who simultaneously participated in the earthquake drill. The exercise aimed to enhance awareness, preparedness, and proper response during earthquake emergencies.
Prior to the simulation, Mr. Ceazar Dannug, Teacher II, conducted an informative discussion on the importance of Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid, emphasizing the essential skills needed to provide immediate assistance during emergencies and potentially save lives while waiting for professional medical responders.
Meanwhile, Mr. Jaymark Bartolome, Teacher III, highlighted the importance of earthquake drills, stressing the need for regular practice to ensure that students and school personnel are familiar with safety protocols and appropriate actions before, during, and after an earthquake.
The successful conduct of the drill reflects the school’s continuous efforts to promote a culture of safety, preparedness, and resilience among learners and stakeholders. Through activities such as the NSED, Sto. Niño National High School strengthens its capacity to respond effectively to disasters and emergencies.
The participation of the school is anchored on SDO-Cagayan Division Order No. 257, s. 2026, entitled “Participation to the CY 2026 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED),” and is further guided by DepEd Order No. 4, s. 2020, or the Guidelines on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) for Schools, as well as Republic Act No. 10121, otherwise known as the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010, which mandates proactive disaster preparedness and risk reduction measures.
