VIOLAGO-GATDULA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
BRIEF HISTORY
Leaders of the community and politicians addressed the need for a school in the barangay. Wilfredo Violago and Mr. Demetrio Gatdula donated a section of their land located in Purok 1, Barangay Mambarao, Sto. Domingo, Nueva Ecija, covering 3,500 square meters in total. Mrs. Brigida Baniqued and Mrs. Miriam Serna were the first teachers i
n the school. But the changes don't end, the first two classrooms (Bagong Lipunan - BLSB Type) are further augmented by two classrooms. The improvement of the school's condition was one of the aspirations of former Barangay Captain Demetrio Lorenzo and subsequent Barangay Captain Tito Baylon, with the help of former Sangunian Bayan Member Pacifico Bermejo and the goodwill of former Mayor Ireneo S. De Leon and Congressman Renato Diaz. In 1995, Mr. Manuel R. Delos Santos led the school transition from Primary School to complete Elementary School with combination classes and the first graduation program took place. In 1996, another two-classroom building was built in the school, through the efforts of Mr. Louie Sigua and Barangay Captain Ceferino Dela Cruz under Mrs. Lilia M. Sanchez as the Public Schools District Supervisor of the Sto. Domingo District. Cecilia S. Makidang was appointed as the first Teacher-In-Charge on August 3, 1998. Her efforts to continue to improve the school, from the physical aspect, classroom management, school programs and activities are booming. In 1999, former Sangunian Bayan Member Pacifico Bermejo passed a resolution changing the name of the school from Mambarao Elementary School to Violago-Gatdula Elementary School, and it was approved. This school is now completely and consistently prepared to take on challenges and keep improving in all areas of the institution. Stakeholders, employees, community, and students are all giving their all to make it happen with God's grace.
