Stepping into the shoes of greatness!

On October 5, 2026, our school community united to celebrate World Teacher’s Day with a meaningful, student-led twist. In a heartwarming tribute to our educators, our SPG Officers and Grade 6 pupils stepped up as "Little Teachers," taking over the classrooms and experiencing firsthand the exceptional dedication, patience, and passion required to lead a class.

Through this activity, our young leaders managed classroom discussions and facilitated activities, giving our beloved Elementary teachers a well-deserved break. To express their deep gratitude, the students also organized a special presentation and distributed heartfelt gifts to honor the hard work of our educators.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our dedicated SPG Adviser, Mr. Michael Nicolas Lugod, LPT, whose outstanding leadership and guidance made this successful celebration possible.

We highly commend our outstanding Little Teachers who served with excellence across all grade levels. For Grade 1, Kloe Cassandra Del Moro and Shekinah Eurhy Renen brought immense energy to their young learners. In Grade 2, Jaffar V. Elias and Dweyn Yohan Bravo handled their classroom discussions with absolute grace. Our Grade 3 student-teachers, Mazie Laserine Reyes and Kataleya Presentacion, facilitated their lessons with wonderful creativity. Anika Coleen Orpia took charge of the Grade 4 class with remarkable confidence, while Avi Cabaccan excellently managed the Grade 5 activities. Finally, Ann Gabrielle Baiño demonstrated exemplary leadership as she took over the Grade 6 classroom.

Thank you for your service, young leaders! Seeing you step up reminds us that the seeds of leadership and knowledge planted by our mentors are blooming beautifully. To all our real-world heroes, Happy World Teacher's Day! 👩‍🏫👨‍🏫🌟

PLANTING THE SEEDS OF TOMORROW

In a collaborative effort toward ecological preservation, the Northeastern College community gathered today to conduct a environmental sustainability project along the local riverbanks.

The NC BEC Supreme Pupil Government actively joined forces with the wider campus community to support local conservation efforts. Coordinated through the joint leadership of the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) and the Community Extension Program and Services (CEPS), the community service project was successfully carried out along the Mabini Riverside today, September 16, 2026.

The environmental mobilization brought together various school sectors, including Extension Program Advisers (EPAs), faculty, staff, and the Governors of different departments (GDD). Operational and student leadership representation on the ground included the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) Officers, the Student Supreme Government (SSG) President, and the Supreme Pupil Government (SPG).

This civic action was organized as a key part of Northeastern College’s 85th Foundation Celebration, channeling the school's historical milestone into meaningful public service. By focusing on environmental stewardship and community unity, the participants worked together to contribute to the local ecosystem.

Organizers noted that each tree planted along the riverbank represents a practical step toward nurturing a greener environment, protecting the riverside, and leaving a lasting ecological legacy for future generations.

The Mintennette Clinches Four Awards in DSPC 2026

The Mintennette, the official school publication of Northeastern College Basic Education Center–Elementary Department, clinched four awards in the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) 2026.

Kloe Cassandra Del Moro - third place in Filipino Column Writing, earning a slot in the Road to the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC). Kataleya Presentacion fourth-place finish in English Column Writing.

In the Science and Technology category, Xian Randy Dupilas - fourth place in English Sci-Tech Writing, while Shekinah Eury Reñen - fifth place in English Editorial Cartooning.

The publication extends its sincerest thanks to Dr. Jhun Fernando and the entire Intelligencers the Minter family for their unending guidance throughout the competition. Appreciation was also extended to coaches Michael Lugod and Richel Felipe, School Paper Adviser Jerusha Beth Diaz, and Joshua Exequiel Astudillo for their mentorship and support.

The Mintennette also expressed gratitude to School Principal Mr. Jerry R. Pobre Jr., CHRA, LPT, MAEd-LL, for his continued support of the school publication and its student journalists. #

NEWS: The Minter sharpens Mintennette journalists’ skills for DSPC showdown

The Intelligencer’s The Minter strengthened the journalism skills of its elementary publication staff, The Mintennette, through an in-house journalism training led by School Publication Adviser Dr. Jhun Fernando in preparation for the upcoming Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC), September 2-4.

The training focused on equipping the young journalists with the essential knowledge and skills needed to compete in various journalism events while representing Northeastern College - Basic Education Center (BEC) with confidence and competence.

Dr. Fernando, who led the training, provided the participants with guidance on effective journalistic practices, emphasizing the importance of accuracy, clarity, responsible reporting, and discipline in producing quality campus journalism.

The in-house training also served as part of The Minter’s continuing capacity-building efforts to prepare its student journalists for press conference competitions and strengthen the publication's culture of responsible and excellence-driven journalism.

NC-BEC Triumphs at Cluster Science and Tech Fair; Qualifies for Division Level

Northeastern College-Basic Education Center (NC-BEC) proudly celebrates the success of its elementary students who excelled in the cluster-based Science and Technology Fair held at Santiago North Central School-Integrated SPED Center, August 29.

Demonstrating their talent and intellect, the Science Skills Olympics Team, composed of Ann Gabrielle A. Baiño, Dweyn Yohan Bravo, and Xian Randy Dupilas, coached by Ms. Richel M. Felipe, secured 2nd place. Meanwhile, Avi Samantha Cabaccan, under the guidance of coach Ms. Jerusha Beth A. Diaz, won 2nd place in the Poster Making Contest and advanced as an official Division Qualifier.

The event aimed to develop resilience, innovation, and creativity among youth amidst global challenges while showcasing learners’ competence in addressing real-world problems for sustainable development. It also sought to enhance scientific attitudes and mathematical skills through healthy and friendly competition. #
