NEWS: NC strengthens institutional excellence through two-day orientation, faculty development program.

Reinforcing its commitment to academic excellence, institutional alignment, and professional growth, Northeastern College (NC) conducted its Two-Day Orientation and Faculty Development Program designed to strengthen understanding of institutional policies, employee benefits, academic procedures, and student support services, held at NC Function Hall, June 18-19.

With the theme, "Comprehensive Orientation and Faculty Development for Fostering Collaborative Excellence and Shared Institutional Values," through the Human Resources Office, the program served as a vital platform for equipping faculty members with the knowledge, skills, and shared vision necessary to uphold the College's mission of delivering quality education while cultivating a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and service excellence.

The activity formally opened with welcoming remarks from Dr. Dionicio D. Viloria, Human Resource Director, who emphasized the importance of orientation in integrating faculty members into the institution's culture and values and encouraged participants to embrace continuous learning, uphold professionalism, and work collectively toward achieving the College's academic goals.

An inspiring message was delivered on behalf of the School President, Dr. Tomas C. Bautista, through the Executive Assistant, Ms. Katrina Camille Bautista, who conveyed the President's appreciation for the dedication and commitment of the teaching workforce. She also encouraged them to actively contribute to the institution's continuing pursuit of excellence and other initiatives.

The first day featured essential discussions on employee welfare and institutional policies. Representatives provided comprehensive orientations on the Social Security System (SSS) and the Pag-IBIG Fund, familiarizing faculty members with their statutory benefits, membership responsibilities, contribution guidelines, and available programs that support employees' financial security and well-being. This was followed by a detailed presentation of the Faculty Manual.

The second day focused on academic operations and student support services essential to effective teaching and learning.
Mr. Dante O. Clemente, the School Accountant, presented guidelines on attendance monitoring and faculty compensation, explaining payroll processes, attendance requirements, compensation policies, and related administrative procedures.

Dr. Franenicia Reconsal, the Chief Librarian, highlighted the College's print and digital learning resources, research support, information literacy programs, and library policies. She encouraged the faculty members to maximize available resources to enrich classroom instruction and strengthen research productivity.

Meanwhile, Dr. Noriel R. Caillan, the Guidance and Scholarship Coordinator, discussed the range of counseling programs, mental wellness initiatives, career guidance, and intervention services available to students. Dr. Caillan also encouraged the faculty members to collaborate closely with his office in supporting students' academic, emotional, and personal development.

To reinforce a student-centered educational environment, Mr. Marlon Jay B. Baysa, the Student Affairs Director, introduced programs and initiatives that promote student engagement, leadership development, and holistic campus life. Ms. Miki Lazaro, the Gender and Development Focal Person, discussed the mandate of her office.

Mrs. Juvielyn M. Agustin, the School Registrar presented the school calendar, academic forms, including grading procedures, class records, enrollment documentation, and other official records.

Completing the orientation was a discussion on Flexible Learning, which emphasized the institution's strategies for delivering quality instruction through technology-enhanced and learner-centered approaches. Ms. Loida F. Hermosura, Dean of the College of Information Technology, presented the SIAS-Learning Management System (LMS) while Dr. Saranay I. Doyaoen, Dean of the College of Education, tackled Ethics for Teachers. #

NC strengthens academic excellence through rest, recreation activity

Faculty members from the College of Liberal Arts, College of Accountancy, Business Administration and Management Accounting, College of Geodetic Engineering, and the Basic Education Center of Northeastern College (NC) participated in a three-day Rest and Recreation Activity in Baguio City, June 12-14.

Led by Dir. Ahmad B. Elias Jr., Coordinator of the College of Liberal Arts, the initiative is part of the institution's continuing commitment to employee wellness, professional camaraderie and holistic development.

The event provided an opportunity for the teaching employees to temporarily step away from their academic responsibilities and engage in meaningful recreational, cultural, and team-building activities. It also served as a venue for strengthening professional relationships among different academic units while appreciating the natural beauty and rich heritage of the City of Pines. #

NC-BEC Senior Scouts Lead Ceremonial Disposal of Worn-Out Flags During Independence Day Celebration

Northeastern College Basic Education Center (NC-BEC) Senior Scouts led the Ceremonial Disposal of Worn-Out Flags as part of the 128th Philippine Independence Day celebration at Rizal Park in front of Santiago City Hall, June 12.

The ceremony gathered Boy Scouts from various schools across Santiago City, together with Wood Badge holders and scout leaders. Under the guidance of Council Scout Executive and Scout Leader Joseph Aggabao, ALT, the participating scouts carried out the solemn ceremony with discipline and respect, demonstrating the core values of Scouting and patriotism.

The ceremonial disposal of worn-out flags was conducted in accordance with Republic Act No. 8491, or the Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines, which prescribes the proper handling and disposal of unserviceable national flags. #

NC BEC prescribes school uniforms

As we begin another school year at Northeastern College Basic Education Center (NCBEC), the practice of wearing our complete school uniform once again becomes a part of our daily routine. More than just a requirement, our school uniform represents unity, discipline, and pride for every NCnian.

The prescribed uniforms apply to all students in the following levels: Elementary, Junior High School (JHS) and Senior High School (SHS).

Sctr. Astudillo Completes Advanced Training Course

Northeastern College Basic Education Center (NC BEC) proudly celebrates the achievement of Wood Badge Holder Sctr. Joshua Exequiel O. Astudillo for successfully completing the Advanced Training Course (ATC) for Outfit Advisors (OA) held at Hacienda San Luis, Cauayan City, Isabela, from May 24 to 31, 2026.

The eight-day intensive training equipped participants with advanced leadership skills, program management techniques, and a deeper understanding of the Scouting movement. Throughout the course, Astudillo demonstrated dedication, resilience, and commitment to the ideals of Scouting, further strengthening his capacity to guide and mentor young Scouts.

His accomplishment marks a significant milestone in his journey as an adult leader. As he returns to serve the NC BEC Senior Scouts, he brings with him renewed knowledge, experience, and inspiration that will help shape the next generation of responsible citizens and community leaders.
