If you could create another version of yourself, sino siya?

During one of our recent student activities, Globalians were asked to create an avatar.

May code name, age, course at life goal. They also had to think about the problems this person might face and what they would do about them.

Each group identified a problem in their community, connected it to an SDG, thought of a possible project, and identified people or groups who could help.

Ang exercise: tingnan kung ano ang problema sa paligid, then isipin kung may practical na pwedeng gawin tungkol dito.

Ikaw, ano ang una mong aayusin sa barangay ninyo?

LOOK | Echo Seminar Conducted at Global Academy of Technology and Entrepreneurship

August 28, 2026 — The GATE conducted an Echo Seminar tackling CHED student concerns, academic policies and grievance procedures through a quiz discussion, as well as the concern of Sustainable Development Goals and its function in the Global Economy.

The said event was held at the Global Academy of Technology and Entrepreneurship, Inc. (GATE), Room 303, and was attended by 88 students.

The seminar first started with an online quiz where students identified different concerns that may be raised to CHED and those that should be resolved within the school. After every item of the quiz, the speakers explained the answers and provided clarification to help students understand the correct process of raising a concern.

The importance of managing issues using the 17 Sustainable Development Goals was also discussed. Students took part in an activity where each group identified a problem in their community, connected it to an SDG, proposed a project or way to fix the problem, and identified possible partners that could help them implement their project.

They also created an avatar by choosing a code name, age, course, life goal, some problems they might face, and how they would solve those problems.

The seminar helped students better understand their concerns, think critically, and understand different perspectives.

From Understanding Problems to Designing Solutions.

GATE students came together for a learning session on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Leadership, and Design Thinking—turning ideas and discussions into opportunities for action.

Throughout the session, students worked together, exchanged perspectives, identified real-world challenges, and explored how problems can be approached through empathy, critical thinking, collaboration, and solution-building.

SDGs give us the bigger picture.
Design Thinking gives us a process.
Leadership gives us the responsibility to act.

Because leadership doesn't begin with a title. It begins when we recognize a problem, understand the people affected by it, bring people together, and decide to do something about it.

But the learning doesn't end with the seminar.

The next step: ACTION.

Each student group will take one real problem in the school or community and use the Design Thinking process to develop a practical, student-led solution or project proposal.

From identifying the problem → to understanding people → to developing ideas → and ultimately, taking action.

Think globally.
Understand locally.
Design solutions.
Act where you are.

LEADERSHIP & RECOGNITION | Moments That Matter

Behind every celebration is a team that makes it happen.

Acquaintance Party 2026 was organized by our Student Body Organization (SBO), whose student leaders took on the planning, coordination, and ex*****on needed to bring the event to life.

From preparing the program to helping keep the celebration moving, the SBO played a major role in creating a memorable experience for our Globalians.

To our SBO officers and everyone who supported them—thank you for stepping up and making it happen.

GLOBALIANS TOGETHER 💛

An acquaintance party is more than just a program. It’s where new faces become familiar, classmates get to know each other, and new friendships begin.

From conversations around the tables to laughs on the dance floor, some of the best moments of Acquaintance Party 2026 happened in between the program.

Because sometimes, the best part of school is the people you get to share it with.

Understanding SDGs Towards Local Solutions: Design Thinking for Youth-Led Project Development

Sometimes, a problem looks like MALAS.
But within every MALAS, we can find our ALAS — the strengths, skills, people, and resources we already have.
With our ALAS, we create ASA.

And when we understand the SAKIT and real experiences of the people around us, solutions begin with MALASAKIT.

That is where design thinking starts: not with the solution we want to give, but with the people we want to help.

And as PILIPINO, we are reminded that we always have a choice:
PILI — choose to act.
PINO — refine our ideas, learn, and make them better.

From understanding global goals to designing local solutions, young people don't have to wait for someone else to solve the problems around them.

See the problem. Understand the people. Choose to act. Build something better.

Understand globally.
See what matters locally.
Act where you are.

The SDGs talk about some of the biggest challenges in the world. But change doesn’t always have to start big.

Sometimes, it starts with simply looking around and asking: What can we make better here?

People. Planet. Prosperity. Peace. Partnership.

Big goals become meaningful when they turn into real action in our own schools and communities.

Start where you are. Start with what you can reach.

If you could change ONE thing in your community today, what would it be?

GATE participates in the Regional Youth Leadership Program 2026 hosted by CHED Regional Office 2

Leadership starts when we speak up about what matters—and grows when we turn ideas into action.

Act where you are. Lead where you are.

GATE joins fellow youth leaders in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals through Internationalization, Innovation, and Community Action.

Another opportunity to learn, connect, and bring meaningful ideas back to our school and community.
