Understanding SDGs Towards Local Solutions: Design Thinking for Youth-Led Project Development

Sometimes, a problem looks like MALAS.
But within every MALAS, we can find our ALAS — the strengths, skills, people, and resources we already have.
With our ALAS, we create ASA.

And when we understand the SAKIT and real experiences of the people around us, solutions begin with MALASAKIT.

That is where design thinking starts: not with the solution we want to give, but with the people we want to help.

And as PILIPINO, we are reminded that we always have a choice:
PILI — choose to act.
PINO — refine our ideas, learn, and make them better.

From understanding global goals to designing local solutions, young people don't have to wait for someone else to solve the problems around them.

See the problem. Understand the people. Choose to act. Build something better.

The SDGs talk about some of the biggest challenges in the world. But change doesn’t always have to start big.

Sometimes, it starts with simply looking around and asking: What can we make better here?

People. Planet. Prosperity. Peace. Partnership.

Big goals become meaningful when they turn into real action in our own schools and communities.

GATE joins fellow youth leaders in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals through Internationalization, Innovation, and Community Action.

Another opportunity to learn, connect, and bring meaningful ideas back to our school and community.

The stage belonged to Globalians who came ready to perform.

From vocal performances and dance numbers to standout cowboy and cowgirl looks, every participant brought confidence, effort, and their own personality to the stage.

Some sang. Some danced. Some simply owned the moment. ⭐

What a night, Globalians!

Our Acquaintance Party 2026: Coachella Cowgirl & Cowboy was a night filled with fun, laughter, talents, and memories.

From the Oath Taking, exciting Q&A, to the much-awaited GATE Got Talent, everyone had the chance to participate, enjoy, and showcase their talents.

We would also like to sincerely thank our SBO Officers for their dedication and unwavering effort in making the Acquaintance Party a success.

Our heartfelt thanks as well to our School Administrator, Lita Capuchino Cadiz, School President, Sir Elmer Viernes Cadiz, and SBO Adviser, Ma’am Maria Monina Cadiz for their support and participation in making this event possible.

Special thanks also to Sir Joselito Saturno Benarry Harren and Arjane Roquero for handling the technical side of the program and helping everything run smoothly throughout the event.

A big thank you as well to our amazing MCs, Kim Alkane Napat Fernandez and Phoeby Claire, for keeping the program fun and lively throughout the event.

From the cowboy and cowgirl outfits to the performances, Q&A, and all the moments we shared, this Acquaintance Party was definitely one to remember.

HIGHLIGHTS | Cook Fest Centerpiece

At the heart of every regional booth were the dishes served with pride, each reflecting the flavors and culinary traditions of various regions. From hearty main dishes and traditional side dishes to locally inspired beverages, every entry showcased the richness and diversity of Filipino cuisine.

More than a feast for the eyes, each dish celebrated the unique identity and heritage of the region it represented.
