๐๐๐๐ | Student leaders from the University of La Salette, Inc. (ULS) joined representatives from higher education institutions across Cagayan Valley during the Regional Youth Leadership Forum held on August 19, 2026, in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
Centered on the theme, โAdvancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Through Internationalization, Innovation, and Community Action,โ the forum provided a venue for participants to engage in discussions on pressing social and community concerns.
The ULS delegation, composed of Student Executive Council President Thyrone C. Abulencia, SEC Treasurer John Patrick A. Tamani, SEC Auditor Joseph Luis B. Jacela, College of Business Education Governor Jayson Pascua, College of Engineering and Architecture Governor Travis Bryant E. Talde, College of Teacher Education Governor Tristan Rae D. Torres, Junior Finance Executives Chairperson Jhon Lord A. Cutaran, and Salettinian Young Leaders Association President Precious Mae A. Mones, attended the forum under the supervision of Limuel Arjay Esteban, MBA, CSAS, Dean of the Office of Student Services and Affairs.

๐๐๐๐ | The Graduate School of the University of La Salette, Inc. (ULS) conducted its Research Colloquium at the Center for Professional Development on August 8, 2026, participated by graduate school faculty members and students, with the theme โKnowledge in Action: Graduate Research for Human Development and Social Transformation, Advancing the SDGs with Truth, Service, and Excellence.โ
Participants presented their research studies in the fields of health, education, technology, entrepreneurship, environmental management, and community development.
Benedict B. Marquez, Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH), received the Best Presenter Award for his study, โBarriers, Readiness, and Challenges of Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) in Utilizing Electronic Health Records Systems (EHRS).โ Meanwhile, Mynchilyn A. Pale, Master of Science in Engineering Management (MSEM), earned the Best Research Paper Award for her study, โFlood Hazard and Risk Assessment of Lower Magat River Basin Using Geospatial Technologies: Basis for Developing Flood Hazard Map.โ
Other awardees were Jaycell A. Tucay (MAEd-PE), First Runner-Up for Best Presenter; Reymond C. Dalupang (MIT), Second Runner-Up for Best Presenter and First Runner-Up for Best Research Paper; and Jose S. Sabaulan (DBA), Second Runner-Up for Best Research Paper.
In her opening remarks, Dr. Madeilyn B. Estacio, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Graduate School, highlighted the importance of graduate research in addressing community concerns and supporting sustainable development.
A panel of evaluators composed of Dr. Darin Jan C. Tindowen, Dr. Client William M. Malinao, and Dr. Denson M. Liday reviewed the presentations and provided comments and recommendations to the presenters.

The university also expresses its sincere gratitude to the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office II (CHED RO II) through the leadership of Dr. Julieta M. Paras, CESO III, Director IV, for its support through Project MENTOR (Mentoring and Enhancement for Nurturing Transformative Opportunities in Research), a flagship initiative under Project GIGIAMMUAN: Accelerating Research Productivity and Scholarly Publication in Region II HEIs.
ULS likewise appreciates the guidance of Dr. Darin Jan C. Tindowen, Education Supervisor II and Regional Research Focal Person of CHED RO II, for facilitating the mentoring sessions on research writing, manuscript enhancement, and publication strategies for Scopus-indexed journals.
