SSCS CONDUCTS ENVIRONMENTAL SYMPOSIUM TO STRENGTHEN BIODIVERSITY AWARENESS

SANTIAGO CITY – In line with its commitment to promoting environmental stewardship and sustainability among learners, Santiago South Central School (SSCS) successfully conducted an Environmental Symposium at the SSCS Conference Hall recently. The activity was spearheaded by School Principal IV Sir Melozar F. Dizon and Sir Joselito A. Garcia, Master Teacher II and Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) Coordinator.

The symposium aimed to deepen the participants’ understanding of biodiversity conservation and environmental protection through a partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region II. Serving as the resource speaker was Ma’am Errol L. Egoy, Senior Ecosystems Management Specialist and Chief of the Conservation and Development Section/Protected Area Superintendent (CDS/PASu), who delivered an informative lecture on biodiversity and its vital role in sustaining ecological balance and human well-being.

During her presentation, Ma’am Egoy emphasized the importance of protecting the country’s rich biodiversity and encouraged learners to become active advocates of environmental conservation. She discussed the significance of preserving various plant and animal species, maintaining healthy ecosystems, and promoting responsible environmental practices within the community. The activity aligns with DENR’s continuing efforts to advance biodiversity conservation and environmental awareness among the youth.

In his message, Sir Melozar F. Dizon highlighted the school’s commitment to nurturing environmentally responsible learners who can contribute to the protection and preservation of natural resources. Likewise, Sir Joselito A. Garcia encouraged students to translate the knowledge gained from the symposium into meaningful actions that support environmental sustainability.

The Environmental Symposium concluded with a renewed sense of responsibility among participants to protect nature and promote biodiversity conservation. Through activities such as this, SSCS continues to empower learners with the knowledge and values necessary to become effective stewards of the environment and partners in building a greener and more sustainable future.

Santiago South Central School Opens SY 2026–2027 with Inspiring Ceremony

SANTIAGO CITY, ISABELA – A new chapter in education officially commenced as Santiago South Central School (SSCS) formally opened the School Year 2026–2027 through a meaningful and inspiring opening program held on June 8, 2026.

The event was spearheaded by Principal IV Dr. Melozar F. Dizon, who warmly welcomed learners, teachers, parents, and stakeholders as they embarked on another year of learning and growth. Joining the occasion was Chief Education Supervisor of the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID), Janette V. Bautista, EdD, who graced the event as the guest of honor and speaker.

In his welcome message, Dr. Dizon emphasized the importance of collaboration, discipline, and commitment among learners, teachers, and parents in achieving educational excellence. He encouraged everyone to embrace the new school year with enthusiasm, resilience, and a positive mindset as the school continues to uphold quality and inclusive education for all learners.

Meanwhile, Dr. Bautista delivered an inspiring message highlighting the Department of Education’s commitment to providing relevant, responsive, and learner-centered education. She commended the dedication of SSCS educators and reminded learners to strive for excellence while nurturing values that will help them become responsible and productive citizens.

The program featured patriotic ceremonies, inspirational messages, and presentations that fostered excitement and optimism among the school community. Learners were warmly welcomed by their teachers and school officials, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm and readiness for the academic year ahead.

As the school officially opened its doors for the new academic year, Santiago South Central School reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing lifelong learners equipped with knowledge, skills, and values essential for success in an ever-changing world.

Santiago South Central School Opens Enrolment and Brigada Eskwela 2026

Santiago South Central School warmly invites parents, learners, alumni, stakeholders, and community partners to take part in the upcoming Enrolment and Brigada Eskwela 2026 from June 1 to 5, 2026.

With the theme of unity, collaboration, and quality education, the week-long activity aims to prepare the school for another productive and learner-centered academic year. The enrolment period will accommodate incoming and returning learners, while Brigada Eskwela will gather volunteers in cleaning, repairing, beautifying, and improving school facilities to ensure a safe and welcoming learning environment for all.

Teachers, parents, volunteers, and community members are encouraged to extend their support through donations, services, and active participation in various school preparation activities. Through the spirit of bayanihan, the school community continues to work together in providing every learner with a clean, secure, and inspiring place to learn and grow.

The Department of Education Region II proudly held a heartfelt send-off program for the Palarong Pambansa qualifiers, honoring the exceptional athletes, coaches, and delegates who will represent the region in the prestigious national sporting event. The ceremony served as a symbol of unity, pride, and unwavering support for the young champions who have demonstrated remarkable dedication, discipline, and excellence in their respective fields of sports.

The event gathered education leaders, school officials, trainers, parents, and stakeholders who expressed their encouragement and confidence in the delegates’ abilities. Inspirational messages highlighted the importance of sportsmanship, perseverance, teamwork, and resilience as the athletes prepare to compete on the national stage. The send-off program also recognized the hard work and sacrifices of coaches and trainers whose guidance contributed greatly to the success of the qualifiers.

Filled with excitement and regional pride, the qualifiers proudly carried the banner of Region II, determined to showcase not only their athletic skills but also the values and character of true champions.
