Santa Rosa, Nueva Ecija | August 18, 2026

The Division Parent-Teacher Association Forum and election of Division Federated PTA Officers was held today at Hotel Consuelo, Santa Rosa, Nueva Ecija.

Presidents and coordinators from the 33 districts of the Schools Division Office of Nueva Ecija attended the event. Before the election proper, the Chief of Schools Governance and Operations Division, Dr. Rowena M. Castillo, warmly welcomed the participants and shared an inspirational message.

Through the guidance of the Division PTA Coordinator, Dr. Cherrylou C. Valdez, and with the help of the district coordinators, the election went smoothly, where Atty. Louise B. Madriaga-Longalong of Sto. Domingo district was elected as the new Division PTA President.

Our Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Ericson S. Sabacan, graced the event and officiated the oath-taking of the newly elected DFPTA Officers for S.Y. 2026-2027.

On the latter part of the event Mr. Benedict N. Marin, the President of Philippine Alliance of Parent Officers and Parents for Collaborative Development, Inc. (PAPde) shared his experiences and wisdom that would help not only the association of parents and teachers but the learners and the division as a whole.

A Day of Recognition and Celebration

Talavera, Nueva Ecija | August 15,2026

The Schools Division Office of Nueva Ecija hosted the Recognition Ceremony for the successful examinees of National Assessment for School Heads (NASH) Batch 2 at the Amphitheater of Talavera National High School.

This event not only celebrated the successful examinees of NASH but also made time to recognize the top notchers from the division.

The newly conferred leaders by the Career Executive Service Board were also given their moment to bask in the glory of their achievement.

On the other hand, the attendees expressed immense gratitude to the organizers spearheaded by our Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Ericson S. Sabacan, our Assistant Schools Division Superintendents, Dr. Danilo M. Jacoba and Dr. Michelle A. Mejica, SGOD Chief Dr. Rowena M. Castillo, and the Division Planning Officer III, Dr. Erwin T. Donelo together with the whole program management committee.

Regional Rollout on Plan Smart for Safe Schools (PSSS) Web Application

SANTA ROSA, NUEVA ECIJA

The Schools Division Office of Nueva Ecija successfully hosted the PSSS Web Application for non-Greater Metro Manila Area rollout on August 11-13, 2026, held at Casa Jedliana Hotel, Brgy. Tagpos, Santa Rosa, Nueva Ecija.

Participants which consisted of Division DRRM Coordinators of Region 3, Information Technology Officers, and select District and secondary DRRM coordinators and school heads, further learned to strengthen the preparation and updating of evidence-based school contingency plans as well as institutionalized risk-informed planning through the integration of hazard and risk data into the process.

The Director IV of the Department of Education (DepEd) Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Service (DRRMS), Felino O. Castro V and Project Development Officer IV, Orlando B. Barachina, graced the event with their presence and wisdom as they shared their firsthand experiences to all the participants in the event.

This event was made possible through the generosity of the Provincial Government of Nueva Ecija whose partnership and support with DepEd’s programs remain unwavering.

Messages of inspiration and gratitude were delivered by the SGOD Chief Dr. Rowena M. Castillo, as well as the President of the Region 3 DRRM Coordinator, Eden N. Garcia, who emphasized that the safety and welfare of the learners are not only something to deal with when the need arises, but rather, it should be ever-present in all public and private schools.

The Checking and Consolidation of the Expanded Career Progression (ECP)/Reclassification Applications for Teachers and School Heads conducted at Antonio Umali Hall, Schools Division of Nueva Ecija, Santa Rosa, Nueva Ecija was undertaken to ensure the systematic, accurate, and efficient checking, validation, and consolidation of the documentary requirements submitted by qualified applicants for reclassification under the ECP.

The activity was spearheaded by the Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Ericson S. Sabacan, the Assistant Schools Division Superintendents (ASDSs), Dr. Michelle A. Mejica and Dr. Danilo M. Jacoba, and the coordinated efforts of the HR Office in collaboration with the Administrative Officers of Schools/District, who served as part of the ECP Consolidating Team. The team was tasked to facilitate the thorough examination of the submitted applications, verify the completeness and compliance of the documentary requirements, identify deficiencies or discrepancies, and consolidate the applications for the succeeding evaluation and processing.

A total of 2,245 and qualified applicants for the various teacher positions were included in the checking and consolidation process.

The process began with the initial checking of the applications and their corresponding documentary requirements. The ECP Consolidating Team conducted a systematic review of the submitted documents using the prescribed checklist to determine whether all required attachments had been submitted and whether these were complete, readable, properly signed and dated, and certified or authenticated when required.

Following the checking and validation of the applications, the Human Resource Management Officer (HRMO), Administrative Officer V, and Assistant Schools Division Superintendent (ASDS) reviewed and signed the (RFTP) and (PAL) of the applicants.
