Start in prayer and end in prayer.
The College of Medical Laboratory Science (CMLS) of Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) - Laguna commemorates its Candle Lighting Ceremony, marking a moment of faith and unity on March 6, 2026โthe same date as the second and final day of the March 2026 Medical Technologists Licensure Examination (MTLE).
Faculty and staff of the college have offered prayers months before the scheduled MTLE. Church visits were also conducted to seek divine intervention for the first batch of examinees from OLFU-Laguna, composed of more than 50 aspiring RMTs.
As of writing, the college is already living the prayersโgarnering a spot among the Top 6 Performing Schoolsโand celebrating a Top 5 placer among its examinees. These milestones stand as a testament to the faith, hard work, and excellence nurtured within the institution, reflected in the success of its newly registered Medical Technologists who have taken their oath on March 10, 2026 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.
As our newly registered Medical Technologists take their oath, we are reminded: behind every success is a story of sacrifice, perseverance, and unwavering trust in Him.
From candlelight to callingโPadayon, RMTs.

This ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐น๐ผ๐ฟ, we commemorate that the freedom we live today was never freely givenโit was fought for with courage, sacrifice, and unwavering love for the nation. As we move forward, may we carry their legacy not only in memory, but in the choices we make to stand united and protect what they have entrusted to us ๐ต๐ญ

Davalos clinches top 5 spot in March 2026 MTLE; OLFU-Laguna CMLS hails first ever topnotcher
Among 7,838 passers of March 2026 Medical Technologists Licensure Examination (MTLE), Mr. Joseph Ocayo Davalos ranked fifth with a rating of 92.40 percent, according to results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on March 11, 2026.
โAt first it felt surreal to see my name on the list of topnotchers because I honestly did not expect to top the board exam,โ mentioned Davalos in an interview. Even as the lone ๐๐ถ๐ฎ ๐๐ข๐ถ๐ฅ๐ฆ of the College of Medical Laboratory Science (CMLS) from across the six campuses of Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU), Davalos kept himself aground but with a focus and grit that is beyond compare.
As now a source of inspiration, Davalos shared how all of his sleepless nights, sacrifices, and hard work during the preparations for the MTLE have been worth it in the end. As he now reaped the fruits of his labor, he imparted that his study habit revolved around an ๐ข๐ฅ ๐ช๐ฏ๐ง๐ช๐ฏ๐ช๐ต๐ถ๐ฎ of discipline and consistency. โI believe that building a strong foundation early on made the actual review process more manageable.โ
And for all aspiring topnotchers, Davalos emphasized three important things that come in handy from preparations to the day of the examination and that is determination, motivation, and support. He deemed all these as great contributors to his success.
Davalos has long been a beacon of excellence after finishing top of his class as a consistent Deanโs Lister, a provincial scholar, and an outstanding intern at the Armed Forces of the Philippines Medical Center (AFPMC).
The licensure examination was administered by the Board of Medical Technology on March 5 and 6, 2026, with 9,317 examinees nationwide taking the exam.

The College of Medical Laboratory Science (CMLS) of Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) โ Laguna Campus emerged as CALABARZONโs leading university in the March 2026 Medical Technologists Licensure Examination (MTLE) after recording a 98.91 percent institutional passing rate, exceeding the national passing rate of 84.13 percent, with 91 newly minted Registered Medical Technologists.
The March 2026 MTLE takers are the third regular batch of graduates of OLFU-Laguna CMLS and the first to exceed the minimum 50 examinees to be eligible in the ranking of Top Performing Schools. Anent, the stint of the college emerged after the Professional Regulation commission (PRC) released the results on March 11, 2026 where OLFU-Laguna CMLS cemented its consistent MTLE stellar record and now with an added laurel as the Top 6 Performing School.
According to Professor/Dean Dr. Jose Jurel M. Nuevo, the CMLS Program in the Laguna Campus is holistic and is anchored in one goal which is to hone a new generation of well-rounded pink-blooded RMTs.
Moreover, Associate Professor Jonna E. Agabe-Tacsay, the Clinical Internship Coordinator, underscored the utilization of all pentafocal activities inherent to the Clinical Internship Training Program as contributory to the instilled values and requisite preparations of students for the MTLE.
Furthermore, the Batch 2025 Banyuhay truly lived by its name and metamorphosed as the first batch to carve their names in the roll of successful examinees with both excellent representation in the List of Topnotchers with Mr Joseph O. Davalos landing on 5th Place and in the List of Top Performing Schools with the OLFU-Laguna CMLS at 6th Place.
To the Program Head, Associate Professor Mikhail A. Valdescona, this feat is the result of consistency and keeping the system intact. He highlighted the success of the college in the MTLE from the maiden batch down to the succeeding batches where the institutional PR always goes beyond the NPR.
According to the PRC, 7,838 out of 9,317 examinees in the country passed the Medical Technologists Licensure Examination, resulting in a national passing rate of 84.13 percent. The examination was administered by the Board of Medical Technology on March 5 and 6, 2026.
The MTLE is conducted bi-annually by the PRC to assess the competence of graduates of Medical Laboratory Science and Public Health Programs before they enter into the professional practice in clinical laboratories and other relevant settings.
The Oath Taking Ceremony is scheduled on April 10, 2026 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.

On Holy Monday, we reflect on the powerful moment when Jesus Christ cleansed the templeโdriving out what was unworthy and restoring a space meant for prayer and devotion. This act is not only a display of righteous courage, but also a reminder for us to examine our own hearts, to let go of what distracts us from faith, and to seek genuine renewal within.
As part of Holy Week, this day also recalls the cursing of the fig treeโa symbol of the importance of bearing true spiritual fruit. It calls us to move beyond appearances and live with sincerity, humility, and purpose.
In the midst of our busy lives, even as this season brings movement and travel, may we find stillness to reflect, to realign our intentions, and to prepare ourselves for the deeper meaning of the days ahead.

Beyond the spotlight was a journey fueled by determination and heart. And in that moment, she showed us that success isnโt only about the crownโitโs about the impact you leave and the confidence you carry.
This milestone speaks of passion, resilience, and representing something far bigger than oneself.

Hosanna in the highest ๐ฟ
Palm Sunday marks the moment Jesus entered Jerusalem, welcomed with open hearts and waving palms. The people rejoiced, proclaiming Him King, yet the depth of His purpose was still unfolding before them.
Today reminds us of a Savior who came not in grandeur, but in humility and loveโready to give everything for our redemption. As we lift our praises, may we also choose to walk in His ways, carrying faith not just in words, but in how we live each day. ๐ค๐
