๐๐๐ฌ๐ ๐ | Students from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) - Department of Journalism (DOJ) gathered on August 13 for JOURNFEST 2026 at the College of Communication (COC) Audio-Visual Room.
Carrying the theme, โTrail and Thrive: Turning Pages Through Two Decades of Truth-Telling,โ the annual fest organized by the PUP Journalism Guild showcased the academic outputs produced by students from freshman to senior year throughout Academic Year 2025-2026.
Freshman students showcased their websites, with BAJ 1-1D presenting "Ang Mas1d," BAJ 1-2N featuring "The Writt2n," and BAJ 1-1N presenting their newsletter "The Sentinel." The outputs tackled issues relevant to COC and the wider PUP community.
Meanwhile, selected second-year students presented their data stories, with eight entries shortlisted for the Best Data Story award.
Third-year students also showcased their photo stories, with selected works competing for the Best Photo Story award.
Also featured during the fest were iCommunicate Volumes 31 to 33, the official magazine of PUP-COC, produced by fourth-year Journalism students. BAJ 4-1D presented Kalyematopeya Magazine, BAJ 4-1N showcased RE:VIEW Magazine, while BAJ 4-2N featured Edge Magazine.
The program concluded with the awarding of certificates of recognition and the announcement of winners for the Best Data Story and Best Photo Story awards, presented by DOJ Chairperson Renalyn Valdez and faculty member Jairo Bolledo.
