๐๐ข๐ข๐ | The ICI Peer Facilitators' Club joined the MIND UNLOCKED: Wellness Without Walls last January 28, 2026, held in NU FAIRVIEW. The event formally commenced with participant registration, allowing attendees to settle in and engage with fellow participants. This was followed by the welcome remarks, which set the tone of the program by emphasizing the importance of mental wellness, inclusivity, and the need to transcend traditional boundaries in addressing human well-being.
The seminar proper began with Plenary Session 1, titled โ๐๐ช๐ฏ๐ฅ๐๐ฆ๐ค๐ฉ 2030: ๐๐ณ๐ช๐ฅ๐จ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ท๐ข๐ต๐ช๐ฐ๐ฏ ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐ข๐ฏ๐ช๐ต๐บ,โ ๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ญ๐ช๐ท๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ฅ ๐ฃ๐บ ๐๐ณ. ๐๐ช๐ค๐ฉ๐ข๐ฆ๐ญ ๐๐ฏ๐จ๐ฆ๐ญ๐ฐ ๐. ๐๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ช๐ณ๐ข. The speaker discussed the evolving role of technology in mental health and wellness, highlighting how innovation must remain deeply rooted in human values. He underscored the balance between technological advancement and ethical responsibility, encouraging participants to envision a future where mindtech serves humanity with compassion and purpose.
This was followed by Plenary Session 2, โ๐๐ฆ๐บ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐๐ถ๐ณ๐ท๐ช๐ท๐ข๐ญ: ๐๐ฆ๐ด๐ต๐ฐ๐ณ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐๐ฐ๐ฑ๐ฆ ๐ช๐ฏ ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐ข๐ฏ๐ช๐ต๐ข๐ณ๐ช๐ข๐ฏ ๐๐ฆ๐ต๐ต๐ช๐ฏ๐จ๐ด,โ ๐ฑ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ด๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต๐ฆ๐ฅ ๐ฃ๐บ ๐๐ณ. ๐๐ฉ๐ข๐ณ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ฆ ๐๐ข๐ฆ ๐. ๐๐ฏ๐จ๐ฐ๐ค๐ฐ, ๐๐๐๐. The session focused on mental health in crisis and humanitarian contexts, emphasizing the importance of hope, dignity, and psychosocial support. Dr. Ongoco shared insights on moving beyond mere survival toward healing and resilience, stressing the role of community-based and trauma-informed approaches.
The final plenary, Plenary Session 3, titled โ๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ณ๐ต๐ธ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ฌ: ๐๐ถ๐ณ๐ฏ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ข๐ต๐ฉ๐บ ๐ช๐ฏ๐ต๐ฐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ข๐ค๐ต,โ ๐ธ๐ข๐ด ๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ญ๐ช๐ท๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ฅ ๐ฃ๐บ ๐๐ณ. ๐๐ฐ๐ข๐ฏ ๐๐ข๐ฆ ๐. ๐๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ป-๐๐ช๐ง๐ข๐ณ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ, ๐๐๐๐. The talk centered on the power of empathy as a driving force for meaningful action. Fr. Perez-Rifareal encouraged participants to translate compassion into concrete initiatives that create lasting change, highlighting that true wellness begins with intentional and heartfelt service to others.
Following the plenary sessions, the program paused for a lunch break, providing participants with an opportunity to rest, reflect on the discussions, and engage in informal networking.
In the afternoon, the event transitioned into a series of workshops, where participants actively engaged in interactive discussions and activities aligned with the themes presented in the plenary sessions. These workshops aimed to deepen understanding, encourage collaboration, and equip participants with practical insights and skills related to mental wellness, innovation, empathy, and humanitarian service.
The event concluded with participants leaving with renewed perspectives, strengthened connections, and a shared commitment to advancing wellness without wallsโextending care, understanding, and action beyond conventional limits.

Some days you wake up already tired. Some days you show up even when your heart feels heavy, your mind feels loud, and your strength feels borrowed. And on days like those, itโs easy to be hard on yourselfโto measure your worth by how productive, cheerful, or โput togetherโ you were.
But please remember this: a single day does not define you.
Not the days you felt slow.
Not the days you struggled to speak kindly to yourself.
Not the days you simply survived instead of shined.
Growth isnโt linear. Healing isnโt loud. Strength isnโt always visible. Sometimes, doing your best looks like resting. Sometimes it looks like asking for help. Sometimes it looks like staying, even when leaving wouldโve been easier.
So donโt think less of yourself just because today wasnโt your brightest moment. You are still worthy. You are still enough. You are still learning, still becoming, still allowed to take up space exactly as you are.
Tomorrow is another chanceโbut even if tomorrow looks the same, you are not failing. You are human. And that, in itself, is something to honor. ๐

Happiness can look different every day, especially when it comes to mental health. It isnโt always loud, exciting, or full of energyโsometimes itโs calm, gentle, and quietly comforting. There are days when happiness means simply feeling okay, finding ease in the moment, or allowing the mind to rest. These small, simple experiences matter, because they remind us that mental well-being is built through everyday choices. Today, happiness takes a soft and familiar formโan extra-large matchaโsymbolizing how even the simplest comforts can support the mind and make space for peace.

This reminds us that growth begins within ourselves. Just like a plant, we cannot thrive if we are constantly neglected, rushed, or spoken to harshly. Watering yourself means giving time to rest, heal, and take care of your emotional and mental well-being. Speaking kindly to yourself means unlearning self-criticism and replacing it with compassion, patience, and understandingโespecially on days when growth feels slow or invisible.
Blooming does not mean becoming perfect or reaching a final version of yourself. It means allowing yourself to grow in your own season, at your own pace, despite the challenges around you. Growth is quiet, gradual, and often unseen, but it is happening.
Be gentle with yourself. Keep nurturing your inner world. One day, you will look back and realizeโyou bloomed simply because you chose to stay, care, and believe in yourself.
